10th Hole Photo submitted by jgolfd on 08/10/2016
Golf carts old and bouncy
Played late during the week. Course was in great condition and absorbed rain well. Golf cart was very bouncy - might have been less tiring to walk.
Good course for the long and short game.
Maples of Ballantrae, 18 holes, was a nice course to play. A lot of challenging holes. Good course for both the long and short game. The course was in good condition, with only a few wet spots although it had been raining the night before. Greens were bumpy. Still a bit spring-like. Play was slow but typical for a weekend. Took 5+ hours should take 3.5. Will play this course again.
LLLLLoooooonnnnnnggggg round
Either overbooked or not well marshalled but it took way too long to finish this round
The course is a gem in Toronto
Mature course, excelent shape. The is not a bad hole on it ! I am now calling this my favorite course for the summer !
Be prepared for a long day.
I can't think of another course that has such bad cart paths. Coming down some of those paths at full speed in their rickety golf carts is really hard on your backside. An average course that is not worth full price.
Good course! Needs some work
Course is fun to play and the conditions are ok. Some staff members were a bit pushy and dismissive while others were friendly. Maybe a bit over priced for the conditions.
Group spacing is too close!
Waited to check in for 15 minutes while the gentleman in the pro shop, took call after call, making bookings on the computer, answering the walkie talkie as well. Almost missed our tee time. The groups on the coarse are spaced out at 8 minute intervals. This caused a severe back log. I think a 10-12 minute spacing would improve pace of play and ultimately get more groups through the coarse. Cart paths could use some work as well. Other than that, the coarse condition and layout are wonderful.
Cold day
Frost delay back everyone up, but it was packed. Had to wait, on every shot. Not the fault of marshals they were out there all day. Just every time time was booked.
Course was in real good condition. Recommend
golfnow takes amex course doesn't
course was nothing more than okay
no halfway house
very limited cart food cash only
Interesting course. Pretty good condition. Very friendly staff.
Interesting course. Pretty good condition. Very friendly staff.
Very good course with nicely maintained greens
Always a good course to come back to.
The first hole is good and the last is memorable.
Others are equally scenic and challenging.
Slow greens, need work (early in season-?) So-so layout.
Value for the money was not there. Layout is average, conditions not up to par. Greens were slow. Maybe time of year problem ...
Fairly tight course.
Staff never put you with the right group if you join as a single.
Starter always ignores HOT DEAL customers.
Tee off 20 minutes after scheduled tee time
We booked a 1:20 tee time knowing that it would be unlikely we would finish before dark. however we didn't tee off until about 1:45. We weren't given a reason so I'm not sure if there was a frost delay or not. Pace was slow and we were only able to finish 13 holes when it was pretty dark at just after 5pm. The course was in decent condition given the time of year. Greens were a little slow but rolled true. Wet spots but that was expected with the overnight rain.
Given all the rain we have had of late the course was in relatively good consition.
Played this course late in the season and it was in pretty good condition, especially given all the rain we have had of late. A couple of holes require attention but I guess they are waiting until the 2013 season.
great value for money
The course is great value for money if booked through golf now.
If you call in they don't give you golf now prices which I find lame because other courses have done so for us in the past
very bad water run off and staff just want to push you threw the course
pro shop and management not willing to listen to player concerns or issues
The course is good
The thing about Maples of Ballantrae is that the course has been around for 25-30 years, and it is time to put some money back into the course. Ex., pave the CART PATHS, fix some of the tee blocks, and maybe get some kind of halfway house out there.
