Golfer Reviews
double taxed
booked online using golfnow. already paid tax and booking fees. when I got to the course, I was taxed again on the balance.
Great course for money
Good challenging course. We only got held up on the last hole so pace was very good. DO NOT try to walk this course. A cart is a must.
Nice round of golf
Uplands is in OK shape - some winter damage is evident. The course is a pretty challenging round, with forces carries on 7 of the 9 holes - not for beginners. Hole #8 is a spectacular & very difficult par 3. Take a cart as this is a tough 9 holes to walk.
Maybe In The Past...
I've read about Uplands for years, so was really looking forward to it. The course is crazy hilly - which is kind of fun, but the fairways were in brutal shape. Seemingly random patches of unmowed grass in the middle. Little supervision, one pair of golfers skipped a hole and tried to sneak in front of us.
Even the 8th - the famous long par three - while in a spectacular setting - looks like we've been suffering through a drought here. Which we haven't. I didn't see a single maintenance person on the course. Even on a Sunday, Toronto's municipal courses have people tending them.
And when the only washroom facility for the entire nine holes is an outhouse that has a seat covered in feces - and has clearly not been tended to for quite some time - it is clear that this course is one to be avoided. No matter who designed it.
This course is very scenic and quite challenging
One of the features I like in this course is its forest like environment and the different challenges of every hole. Also, the greens are fast which I like as well.
Staff are friendly and very accommodating.
Shame this course is only 9
Great little course with 9 Stanley Thompson designed holes. Pace of play was good and staff were extremely friendly. Greens were in good shape, however some fairways were very lumpy leaving tricky lies for approach shots.(likely mogul runs for skiers in the winter). The highlight of the course is definitely the par 3 8th. The hole plays just inside 240 through a narrow window to the green, which is approximately 60 yards below the deck ( yet somehow elevated), with trouble to either side . This hole alone is almost worth the green fees. Great course for after work/pre NFL.
cow pasture
Terrible that's all I can say. Would not recommend unless you are desperate to play and everything is booked
Extremely challenging 9 holes.
Extremely challenging 9 holes, superb scenery, excellent in every respect.
Good value
Bit of attitude from front desk. Course was in good shape. Challenging holes
Cart is highly recommended.
Awful staff service: pro-shop staff's lack of knowledge and ranger's rude manner
The staff in pro-shop has lack of knowledge. She doesn't look like professional.
The worst thing is the ranger's out of manner.
He was staring at us while we are playing and even threatening when one player was trying to have one more stroke on the green because she missed
small putting distance. The ranger was yelling at her to get off the golf course if she would next time. He insisted to apologize about it.
nice course
good n interrest course but hard to walk too mouch up n down
Friendly staff
The course is challenging and interesting. The proshop staff was really friendly and nice. Junior camp was being held on the day I went there last time and thus, it was quite busy but the staff kindly explained to us which hole would be the best to start playing and the timeframe that's best to avoid. I really recommend this golf course and I love it!
Fun 9 holes
Changeling fun nine holes . One of the better city courses
NOT FOR BEGINNER
Course layout is interesting. Elevations up and down tee to green on most holes & not easy to walk.
Some degree of challenges on every holes especially on #8 longest par three.
I recommed this couse for anyone who like challenge and test their own skill.
