Golfer Reviews
A challenging 9 holes
Uplands is a challenge with its hills and blind shots, and the par-3 8th hole is justifiably rated as one of the best holes in Canada. The pace of play was a bit slow, but it was Father's Day. I had a nice time, even with a cranky short game, and the staff was very friendly. A very convenient location and a good deal from Golfnow.com made for a nice few hours.
Sat Golf
Great course to play if you live in the GTA area. The staff is very helpful. I would play this course again
Stay in position
A short 9 hole but with teeth. Not for beginners but great for the thinking golfer. Very positional so keep your yardages in mind when you pull a club
Great value for a quick nine
Ken , the golf pro is a pleasure to deal with. This challenging nine rates with many if the other courses and the friendly staff makes it a real pleasure.
Very rude proshop staff
I've been to this course a few times in the past but I wont go or recommend this course. We were supposed to get power carts but I totally understand that due to weather its not possible. So we asked to rent pull carts but the proshop staff didnt want us to use their pull carts. Also he was the rudest staff I've ever seen. He didnt listen to us and he kept telling us to call GolfNow and cancel booking if we wanted to use their pull carts.. So we just used our own pull carts which he said okay and which I seriously do not understand at all. I wont go there again due to this rude and inconsiderate staff. If it was their policy, he could have explained to us rather than telling us to cancel booking. It was the worst experience ever.
Cart Unavailable
We booked a round with a cart included on Golf Now, but when we arrived at the course, we were told there was at least a 30 minute wait for the cart. We could tee off before and walk, but our green fee would not be refunded for the price of the cart.
challenging
Good & challenging !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the bad:
- carts are gas type. extremely slow
- no driving range
- extremely slow players infront of us
Bad services
The course was busy when I went. We had a group of 4 so a bit slower and very hilly so a lot of shots you can see where your ball rolled to. A lot of young guys on the course and we got harassed by one group.
The service was terrible, we had a cart and was late by 3 min for tee time and was kicked off the course. "This is golf, you can't be late for this. Late is late"
Overall, this course is very good value.
A very challenging hilly 9-hole course in a most scenic setting. Correct distance and direction off the tee is critical. Greens are in excellent condition - but very fast. Maintenance of fairways could be better - numerous divots (some quite old) need repairing . Also, the rough could be shorter - sometimes quite difficult to find your ball.
This course is in rough shape but greens are ok.
Very difficult course to walk due to ski hills/design.
Challenging course with lots of ups and downs
9 hole course with lovely scenery. Forgo a golf cart and have a workout due to the hills and valleys. Challenging for this occasional golfer.
Go to the driving range
Went here because it was a cheap course I could quickly get to... The course is in horrible condition and is extremely poorly laid out..ex having to walk back and forth to tee boxes .. This course is also extremely difficult to walk... I would rather go to the range then play this course again
The course is interesting and challenging.
The course is challenging. The staff is working hard, but not as friendly as many other courses I visited. It is not flexible about the time to start tee time. When there is nobody waiting and play, they let you wait until there are many people to play and had a hold up
in play. So be flexible and customer is the king and they do not show that in their attitude.
great location, 3rd hole needs attention.
Great Course for the intermediate and location ,amenities are basic.Quite hilly to walk especially on a hot day. Course condition needs some attention, also the 3rd hole is still under repairs.
Great workout and also quite challenging for 2-hours of golf...
From elevated tees and greens to angulating fairway slopes, this course should require additional hiking boots...lol. All kidding aside, its a great experience. The 8th hole is probably the most challenging I have ever seen or played. Straight is the only option and you must strike tee to green at 210yds. Come up short and there is an 80ft slope to green?
Love this course! Great when time is short!
Very Scenic holes - too bad it was reduced to 9 holes from 18 many years ago. A gem hidden just north of the city. Great to play when time is short!
This is a prime example of a two star course
The golf course is challenging, close by and in very rough shape.
Great little 9 hole challenge in Toronto which unfortunately means
Kids and hackers who don't replace divots or repair on greens. For a high handicapper, means a lot of lost balls and much waiting on the tee box.
