Golfer Reviews
A great challenge
Course was very unique and challenging. Unusual course design that was difficult as a first time player, but very enjoyable nonetheless. Very cool layout and scenery. Would definitely recommend and play again.
Slow pace of play
Played on Sun afternoon - had a 2:15pm tee-time but there were 2 groups ahead, so we were waiting. It was apparent that the front desk (a couple of high school kids) had absolutely no idea how to group golfers & sent out 2-somes, who were slow to play. 1 of the front desk kids came out & asked us to golf w/ the 2-some in front of us (he finally figured out there was a BIG back log). This is a huge problem @ this course. Once we were on the course, there was an oblivious couple ahead of us, who couldn't keep the pace of play. Luckily for us, the marshall was receptive & got them going. After that, it was clear sailing.
cours only 9 hole to take 2 hours to play
some fair way too narrow and all greens need to repair and all tee boxes repair
great scenery and challenging
This course is not suitable for beginners. Very narrow and hilly. Some greens are very small which requires more precision. Beautiful scenery, especially looking down at the green. For my second year playing, I found this course intimidating. But I will come back. I like the challenge.
Great nine hole course
There are plenty of challenges to make you feel that playing only nine holes is enough - took about 2.5 hours to play. We are novice players but hit well enough to get the arc and distance. That is a minimum skill required to enjoy this course - it is very easy to lose balls on this course.
nice 9 hole course
This is a good 9 hole course and has a good location.
challenging 9 holes
Challenges you to use all clubs in your bag. Staff was great andvthe course was in decent condition. I will be playing this course again.
easy to book and close to home
ordered from golfnow the day before and got good deal, it's very nice day when i was playing and also it's close home. I like this way to play short game, will come more.
Greatest 9 holes for the public in the Toronto Area
Now that the third hole's temperary tee's have been replaced and the hole is once again playing as a par four, these 9 holes are a challenging and delightful half round for golfers of all ablities.
Average for a Nine hole course.
Course is very hilly. Too many holes where you have to go up a hill and come down a hill. If you like walking it is challenging.
Beautiful 9 hole course
I've played here twice this season and the pace of play has been really slow both times. Was waiting at each of the last 4 holes; it would have been worse but a pair in front of me looped back around. There was a marshall but they didn't really do anything to help pace of play.
With that said though I still think it's really great value if booked through GolfNow. Some nice elevation changes and beautiful holes. I walked once but was taxing with the steep hills.
It's really close by to me which is definitely a plus. Will go back to play again for sure.
Walking gives you a good workout
Still renovating 4th hole and will not be finished soon. Rest of course in good shape.
A scenic and varied walk with lots of changes in elevation and rewards for the accurate hitter.
Ask the rehired pro about the history. Interesting!
very challenging
a challenging, up and down hills, 9 hole course - 3rd hole was under construction, would have appreciated new yardage markers. friendly staff
Great little 9 hole course, close to the city.
Although only 9 holes, Uplands is a great little course if you just want to get out for a couple of hours and not drive two hours to get there. Reasonable price too.
Fun course to play!
I really enjoyed my round here. A lot of fun to play! Nice rolling hills and some shots you can bomb! Greens were well kept, but not elite. Nice for a quick game to boost your confidence!
Stanley Thompson divided by 2
Pros: Stanley Thompson design – challenging holes.
Cons: Feels like an 18 hole course was poorly reconfigured to nine holes. Poor course routing means long distances between tee boxes. Not walking friendly.
Example hole 6 – you must walk back the entire distance of the hole you just played to get to the seventh tee box.
