Good 9 in the City
Always surprised Uplands isn't busier! Nearby options like Richmond Hill and Don Valley are twice the price and fully booked.
Walking this course is a challenge, lots of up and down (its a ski hill in the winter), but managed it with two teenagers in 40 degree heat so no excuses. Pack water, there is no beverage cart.
Grass is OK condition, much better than some other Southern Ontario courses. Sand traps are rock solid.
Several chances to break out your driver, some challenging green placement, overall a good spot. inexpensive way to spend a few hours.
Inexpensive fun
About what you’d expect for the price, and great for youth golfers. If you enjoy hitting the ball long, you probably won’t have much fun here.
Construction and mud
I had a really good time, I enjoyed the course and the scenery I found it challenging and fun. It was disappointing that their were hoses randomly spread throught the course, my ball actually hit one on the first hole. At the bottom of hills there were often trenches of mud and the grass would shift and squelch beneath our feet. At the 4th hole I believe there's a construction site which really took away from the atmosphere and was quite distracting . The 9th hole does not have an information sign with the yardage and lay out which was annoying as well as a job site directly in the line of fire before the last green, my ball went inside of the fence. I understand you guys are working on the course but I have to be honest for $31+ tax for 9 holes i would not call this great value. This shud be a $22 price point at least while construction is ongoing.
That being said I had fun and I will most likely come back and hope that the course will be drier.
Uplands Just Say No
Played Uplands a few times over the years. I have noticed that every year I play Uplands the course grounds (tee box, fairways, greens) get worse in condition. The course layout is marvellous but the upkeep of the course is horrible. I would not suggest this course to anyone because of the above mentioned and the price is too expensive for poor club facility management.
not worth the money
we payed 70+ dollars with a cart but have played in way better courses for the same amount of money. some off the tee block were soaked in water and also puddles of water in some sandbanks. that was weird considering it didn’t rain for the past 4 days and the past two days have been 35+ degrees. it was also a very bumpy ride with the cart because the pathways are all uneven and in some spots we were driving on these woodchips that were layed down because there may have been work going in for the ski slopes. when checking in, it took one of the staff members 15 mins to get 4 of us to pay.
i wouldn’t recommend this place unless the green fee was under 30$
Beautiful old course
Considering there is some work underway along the valley hole 3 this course was in very good shape with terrific greens and good Covid rules in play. 7th hole is 232 par 3 and one of the top holes in Canada.
Construction and Tee Blocks
Construction on a few of the holes.
No tee blocks.
Very hilly and narrow course... and no beer cart!
Very hilly and narrow course. Far too many blind holes for my liking. Extremely poorly laid out, with more than one hole where you literally have to walk straight back to the tee area from the green - directly in the line of fire of the next golfers - to get over to the next hole. In addition to the confusing, poorly marked course layout, there are no tee markers in the tee areas. Construction all over the course. Plus, no beer cart. That one is unforgivable!
Uplands
Friendly staff. Construction makes hole 3 almost unplayable. Very scenic course. Very challenging holes 4 and 8. A tough course to walk if walking is an issue. Overall it’s a fun little golf course for the price.
Worst course in gta
This is by for the worst course in the gta. Terribly kept. Even the carts are terrible, my bag fell off the back 5 times while playing. Do not go here
Hall 3 is now under construction
Staff never mentioned that hall no.3 is now closed due to construction. No back up hall.
Pathetic
Let me preface this review by saying I am not a great golfer. In saying that, I get the etiquette of the game and have respect for my fellow golfers. This course has no Marshall, or really any staff at all except for the people taking your money at the desk. The pace of play was PATHETIC. I teed off at 3:00, I got to my car at 9:02pm. I have all the patience in the world for subpar golfers, I am one. But the lack of etiquette and policing made it a dreadful round. The course is under construction and I get that so I won’t comment negatively about that. But overall really disappointing experience considering I paid $45 to walk.
Lots of Hills
Great little 9 hole course to work on loft and accuracy. If you book an early tee time you can get out in 2 hours because it can get busy throughout the day on weekends.
