About
Set along the Rio Grande River, this is a scenic course with spectacular views. The front nine was built in 1987, and the back nine followed in 1992. The highlight of the course is what is perhaps the longest water hazard in Texas, the Rio Grande River, which flows along holes 5 through 13 on the left side of the fairway.
Narrow fairways and grass bunkers make the course tough, especially when the wind is howling, as it is tough to hit the small, firm greens. Water is everywhere. No. 14 is the only hole without water. The par 3 17th hole, with its island greens, headlines a series of demanding par 3 holes. The last hole plays 434 yards into the wind and has out-of-bounds on either side of the fairway.
Getting there : From Harlingen take Hwy. 77 south. When you come to Hwy. 802 turn right, then continue until you reach Hwy 281. Turn right again and drive approximately 2.5 miles to the course

Course is very well designed, to follow the Rio Grand River
It is a very nice and well groomed course, staff was very helpful and the Marshal was taking care of business, I would differently recommend it to anyone

Nice course, challenging greens, Love being on the scenic Rio Grand.
Cold day at the river
This course is in good shape for midJanuary. Greens rolled true and fairly fast. A three hour round on a chilly day. I will definately play this course again.

The course was in good shape. Lots of water and tight fairways. Really enjoyed the challenge.

A fun day
Some beautiful holes, some contrived holes, but a lot of fun. Greens in great shape.
Greens were in great shape
My wife & I had the pleasure of playing here. The greens and tee box’s were in great shape and rolled true. 20mph wind conditions made for a interesting day lol We played at another course in the area “SPIGC” the day before. It was in awful embarrassing shape. Wish we would of just played both days at River Bend. It was a blast and has some very memorable holes #17.
Golf
Golf course as very nice and well maintained. Staff super friendly as were the local golfers we met. Will go back.
