Many changes
Because of the ONtario Golf open the course is in prestige condition. Greens were true. Bunkers with shoe beach sand were an excellent addition. Keep it up
All show no go
Starter was fine. Teed off on time. First 6 holes were decent. No mention of GUR for the bunkers which were mud and had gravel trenches dig into them clearly in transition for upcoming Ontario Open. Things got bad approaching #7 with the pace clogging up like the 401 full of rubberneckers. Didn’t see beverage cart til #9 while waiting on two groups on fairway. Things got really bad on 10 when the threesome ahead of us played through the worst twosome i have ever seen on a course. These guys drove up to the green and ON the green several times with their cart. No etiquette at all. Would love to have reported it to a marshal but NOT ONE was seen on the course the ENTIRE round. Front nine took 90 minutes. Back nine took 150.
I tend to ignore bad reviews because it seems every course has off days. But if you’re reading this and golf now hot deal has you tempted to play this course, don’t. It’s an amazing layout but run terribly. I’ve played 85 courses so far in my life. This one is in the bottom 10 courses for worst experiences.
Nice Property
Woodington Lakes Legends course is an interesting layout with each hole quite different than the next. Not great for beginners perhaps, but they also have the more forgiving Legacy course on site. Intermediate to advanced players will enjoy The Legends Course.
Weekday hot deal is a bargain at $50-$60. Prepping the bunkers for the Ontario Open in a few weeks fixes up the only weak link this course had. (Legacy course traps need fix up sometime too). Pace of play was go as fast as you want...played 2some in 3:10...was wide open today. Friendly staff , well maintained turf throughout a beautiful property makes this place a treat to play.
Nice course
Course is in very good shape. The bunkers r unplayable for the most part . Very playable course not super long make good tee shot and u can score
Father son match
Incredible course. Except the bunkers which I will rate 1 out of 10. So bad we didn't play out of them. Greens were some of the best I have ever played on as we're the fairways.. will definitely return.
Stay straight or Pay
The Legend course was in great condition, the day was sunny☀️ And the challenge was on!
Lots of opportunity to get the big stick out and lots of interesting holes to make you use all your clubs! My biggest criticism would be too many blind holes and doglegs! When you don’t know the course you can only guess at the best angle to play your shot! Too many times you had to guess! Now it was still a FUN track to play and beautiful mature trees lining many fairways with well groomed fairways & rough! Lots better of elevation and enough water holes to scare the duffers a bit! So overall it was an enjoyable challenging round but if your looking to score a low round the course setup does not really allow that too happen! Will play it again in the fall to enjoy the valley colors that will enhance it!
Woodington Lake - Tottenham ON
Have played this 18 (Legends) many times over the years. Always a challenge but always fair. Course was in good shape given the wet spring and start to summer. However, bunkers had very little sand in them making greenside shots tricky. Played as a twosome so completed the round in 3 1/2 hours - fantastic. Greens were the most challenging part of the round - as usual.
Very slow
Upon arriving we were told that there was a tournament on the Legend course, asked to be switched to the other 18 (Legacy) and were told that's not how it works . Every single hole we were waiting for 2-4 groups to tee off . Were nevee offered to play through (understandably though , its busy theres no point) . Took us 6 hours to play 18 .
Great course
What a hard but beautiful golf course. I love playing here and staff is amazing, very nice people.
Sure will be nicer later in the year
Course conditions werent great, but none of the courses are. Im sure in a month or so will be great. Very nice and challenging course
Nice course - Long round
Pretty course with all the trees and water, but it can be a challenge. Blues play roughly 6500 yards with a rating of 72 and a slope of 143. The course was challenging for me as I haven’t worked out the winter rust yet - but once I do, I’ll be back. All clubs in the bag were used.
Bought the Godfather sandwich on the course - a delicious sandwich packed with different meats, buffalo mozzarella, pickled peppers on focaccia bread. It’s the tastiest thing I have eaten on the course. Next time, I’ll stay after the round to taste the food from the clubhouse.
Pace of play was 5 h and 07 minutes. Course was packed and we were waiting on some holes.
Great food after the round at the beautiful club house
Great layout and challenging green were super fast despite being wet. course was wet and damp everywhere, but should be expected this early in the season. Very well maintained though
Biggest dislike was the bunker sand and small practice range and green very minor overall
Cant wait to come back and try the legacy course
Overbooking
While course was in very good condition only one hole was having drainage problems . Carth path only. We had 9:36 tee of time, their was no frost delay & at 9:36 we had four groups on first tee, obviously overbooking by course. When paying good money did not expect that they would overbook.
