Great Course
Great Couse but slow pace
Great public course
My average round has been 4 hours that is quite acceptable for a public course. It has some tough holes but is fair to all intermediate golfers with different tee boxes
Hi holmesville-
Thanks for your review. We're glad to hear that you had a good experience with us! Hope to see you on the course again soon.
Great Course on a Sunny Day
Club selection has always been a challenge and each and every hole brings this challenge into play. Elevated, undulating greens makes it tough to get the ball close to pin placements and if you don't you are faced with speed puts that break all day long. The greens are in great condition and the speed was consistent from hole 1 to 18. The only concerns I had were the rough is not evenly cut. It appears the mower driver goes to fast and misses spots. The bunkers are not consistent from hole to hole either, but you're not suppose to be in them anyways.
Whenever I want to see how my game is I golf Grey Silo and I'll be back.

great day
Met by friendly staff on our arrival at parking lot. Clubs put on cart for is while we went to pro shop to check in. Pro shop was excellent and efficient. Went to the range with our complimentary bucket of balls to warm up. The course was excellent. The greens were good and my only minor complaint was the lack of depth in the sand traps. Otherwise we had a great day and will definitely be back.

"A" Level Course
A very unique test unlike all the local courses. Not overly long, but many visual challenges such as water, wind, bunkers and the odd stances on errand shots. Ball placement is a premium and the greens are tricky to read.
This course reminds me of a hybrid between links golf and marshland set along the Grand River. Great scenery for nature lovers and golfers. A must play.

Enjoyable Course
It's always nice to play courses that take care of their tee boxes. Grey Silo is taken care of. A big plus playing in October is finding courses that haven't recently been aerated and draped with sand. The greens here were aerated back in August so they are in great shape this time of year. The only downside is that the course is relatively flat, so on the other hand, I can see it appealing to the walking crowd (although there is a long stretch between hole #1 to #2 and #17 to #18, so if you're riding but the group ahead is walking, be prepared to catch up to them before they even reach the next tee).
Good course, but slow play
The course was in good condition, but the greens still show signs from the last aeration.
Overall the layout requires you to hit the generous fairways in order to leave a reasonable approach to the greens.
The biggest disappointment was the slow play. There are a lot of hazards on this course which slowed play as people spend time looking for balls and we were caught behind a small tournament and the marshalls were not able to help speed up play.
Challenging from the tips
If your handicap is below 10, you probably want to play this course from the Black tees- makes for a challenging round as several of the par 4s are long, which makes up for the few shorter ones (<400 yards). The course was in great shape for mid-October. We played in very strong winds, which added to the challenge, as only a few holes are protected from the wind. Although the course is walkable, there are LONG walks between 1&2 and 17&18. My only criticism is that the pace of play was pretty slow (4 h 20 min round), although the wind may have contributed to that.
Great course
Golf course was in excellent shape considering we may be heading into snow soon . Cudos to the grounds staff ! Clubhouse and course staff were excellent resources . Would like to see more yardage markers , but an excellent course to play .
Well worth the drive!
Knowing that this golf course hosted annual LPGA events prior to 2015, we were not disappointed with a 90 minute drive from the east end of Toronto and we found the golf course conditions and grooming exceptional even for the early fall. Although the clubhouse and practice facilities are relatively small by comparison, the golf course itself was very challenging and a must play and well worth the drive!
Sorry for any inconvenience the slow pace may have caused you. Otherwise, we're glad you enjoyed our course! Thanks for the 5 Star review!
