GREAT overall experience
We moved away and it had been several years since I played Boulder and I forgot what an awesome course it is! Course conditions were excellent, layout is awesome and the clubhouse, halfway house and staff were superb! Highly recommend and now that we've moved back to the area I'll be back soon this time!
Poorly managed
Our group is the largest privately ran golf tournament in America. We booked our tournament here this year making it very clear to the course owner that our average round is 5.5-6 hours. He agreed to that and gladly took full payment for 84 golfers for four days. Course reviews across multiple sites state the pace of play is slow; up to 6 hours on the weekends. At the conclusion of our second day, the owner called our leader giving him an ultimatum he had 10 minutes to tell him how we were going to get our pace of play down to 4.5-5 hours ... or we wouldn't be welcome back for our last two days. Instead of a tournament round on our third day we had to opt to a scramble. We easily kept up with the public players they put off in front of us. This completely ruined our tournament format, and was inexcusable for him to do to us.
It is a beautiful and challenging course, but is a shame it's so poorly managed: No rangers, trash cans on the course were over flowing and not emptied once while we were there. Greens ran on the slow side - guessing they keep them that way to speed up play.
Great course
Played the early round so pace of play wasn't an issue. Course is in great shape. Beautiful course. Greens were perfect, fairways are clean. Value is great!
Owner and Pro-Shop staff are angry and incompetent.
My golf group takes a trip every year. There is always between 80-90 guys that go. We play a tournament over 4 days. On the first day of our tournament the pro-shop decided to put multiple groups out in front of our 84 man tournament. They also put golfers out at 10 in between our golfers. Our first group stayed on the golfers in front of them and kept the pace of play. Not one time did a ranger come out to move things along. By the end of the day those groups were playing almost 6 hour rounds all while waiting on those first groups. Before we even finished our round the owner who was going on false information called our group leader throwing one f-bomb after another that we would not be allowed back the next day if we did not come up with a solution in 10min. In over 20 years of making this trip this is the worst course management we have ever run across. I talked with many locals about the course and 5 1/2 hour rounds are normal there. I wouldn’t waste my money at this course. Worst experience on a golf course I’ve ever had.
Beautiful views & beautiful golf
Second time playing this track and can’t wait to play it again. The course was in great condition. Greens weren’t as fast as I anticipated but the conditions of the greens were outstanding. Definitely a premier course
Nice track
Beautiful landscaped property. Tee to green in great shape. The rough was a little thick so stay out. Greens were slow especially when your used to playing Florida courses. Overall nice track.
Cart Path Only
It’s tough to be fair when cart path only rules are in place due to excessive rain the night before. The fairways are not always this wet. Even drives in the middle of the fairway were soggy..
Beautiful course
As a first time player to this course I was blown away at how great the course was well-taken care of by the wonderful folks at the greens department. Manicured lawns and awesome fairways. I can't believe I never played this course before. The only downside was I only made it to the 16th tee when the skies opened up and I got soaked. Definitely will return. Thanks again for a super fun day on your golf course.
Nice layout , bad decisions
Last played Boulder Creek around 10/15 years ago. The layout was fun and great topography for the area. We teed off at 6am and played the first 9 in 1:30. When we got to the second nine the proshop or ranger sent groups on the back, so the second nine took almost 3 hours. That’s the problem with public golf for me, why would you send groups off in front of people like that ?
Ruined the experience but gave ample time to enjoy the surroundings. I think the course is challenging for higher handicaps and people
Out of physical shape because there are several cart path only holes and the hilly terrain had the seniors and overweight golfers in front us struggling mightily just to get to their balls, let alone hit quality shots. Every green I repaired 5+ ball marks.
5.5 hour rounds are zero fun
All three stars are for the great conditioning of the golf course. Although the greens are slow and spongy they are in amazing condition.
The rest is truly awful. Here’s my take.
Strike 1)Driving range closed for a photo shoot.
Strike 2)Five and a half hour round. Never have we played here when it doesn’t take five plus
hours. Unacceptable in 2025.
Strike 3)Today it was 90 degrees. There is no water on the course. There is also no cart person. Not only does this cause inconvenience it is actually dangerous on days like today.
Wish I could say something positive but there is nothing more to say.
Great Father’s Day round
My daughter and I plaid on Father’s Day. We were paired with a father-son pairing. The course was in fantastic shape and the staff were great. Pace of play was slow but as expected given the weather the previous days. Thanks!
GREAT COURSE POOR MANAGEMENT
My husband and I have wanted to play this course since we noticed it from the Interstate years ago. We got there early and were disappointed in the service at the not very busy restaurant. Our food, however, was good. Not a very warm feeling with the Pro Shop guy, very little info unless asked e.g.Do we need to pick up a scorecard here? "Yes, they get wet if we put them on the carts." He advised us not to put our clubs on the cart until 10 min before our tee time because they were in high demand. There were many carts parked outside. He gave us no info regarding checking in with the Starter on the 1st tee; therefore, we had no idea how this worked. We noticed people just getting in carts and driving toward the 1st tee..After hearing enough "F bombs" from a 4some who seemed to be getting themselves and their carts gassed up for another round, my husband and I decided to head to #1. We met the very kind starter who was definitely not in control. He was going to send us off ahead of our tee because the tee was open, then the drunk guys showed up and he sent them off.. When the next group showed up late, he sent them off; however, it had been at least 10 minutes and the drunk guys were still toasting on #1. Ultimately, we played through about 3 groups after skipping holes so that we could possibly finish before the rain. This was an extremely frustrating experience on an absolutely gorgeous course. Literally EVERY hole is appealing. I realize time is tough and it's hard to get good help; however, I would expect that a course that has created "eye candy" for the Interstate travelers would be able to make things run a little smoother. Our biggest concern was that the "eye candy" wouldn't run throughout the course. We were pleasantly surprised that it did. Again.GREAT COURSE, just poor management.
