Nice layout , bad decisions
Last played Boulder Creek around 10/15 years ago. The layout was fun and great topography for the area. We teed off at 6am and played the first 9 in 1:30. When we got to the second nine the proshop or ranger sent groups on the back, so the second nine took almost 3 hours. That’s the problem with public golf for me, why would you send groups off in front of people like that ?
Ruined the experience but gave ample time to enjoy the surroundings. I think the course is challenging for higher handicaps and people
Out of physical shape because there are several cart path only holes and the hilly terrain had the seniors and overweight golfers in front us struggling mightily just to get to their balls, let alone hit quality shots. Every green I repaired 5+ ball marks.
5.5 hour rounds are zero fun
All three stars are for the great conditioning of the golf course. Although the greens are slow and spongy they are in amazing condition.
The rest is truly awful. Here’s my take.
Strike 1)Driving range closed for a photo shoot.
Strike 2)Five and a half hour round. Never have we played here when it doesn’t take five plus
hours. Unacceptable in 2025.
Strike 3)Today it was 90 degrees. There is no water on the course. There is also no cart person. Not only does this cause inconvenience it is actually dangerous on days like today.
Wish I could say something positive but there is nothing more to say.
Great Father’s Day round
My daughter and I plaid on Father’s Day. We were paired with a father-son pairing. The course was in fantastic shape and the staff were great. Pace of play was slow but as expected given the weather the previous days. Thanks!
GREAT COURSE POOR MANAGEMENT
My husband and I have wanted to play this course since we noticed it from the Interstate years ago. We got there early and were disappointed in the service at the not very busy restaurant. Our food, however, was good. Not a very warm feeling with the Pro Shop guy, very little info unless asked e.g.Do we need to pick up a scorecard here? "Yes, they get wet if we put them on the carts." He advised us not to put our clubs on the cart until 10 min before our tee time because they were in high demand. There were many carts parked outside. He gave us no info regarding checking in with the Starter on the 1st tee; therefore, we had no idea how this worked. We noticed people just getting in carts and driving toward the 1st tee..After hearing enough "F bombs" from a 4some who seemed to be getting themselves and their carts gassed up for another round, my husband and I decided to head to #1. We met the very kind starter who was definitely not in control. He was going to send us off ahead of our tee because the tee was open, then the drunk guys showed up and he sent them off.. When the next group showed up late, he sent them off; however, it had been at least 10 minutes and the drunk guys were still toasting on #1. Ultimately, we played through about 3 groups after skipping holes so that we could possibly finish before the rain. This was an extremely frustrating experience on an absolutely gorgeous course. Literally EVERY hole is appealing. I realize time is tough and it's hard to get good help; however, I would expect that a course that has created "eye candy" for the Interstate travelers would be able to make things run a little smoother. Our biggest concern was that the "eye candy" wouldn't run throughout the course. We were pleasantly surprised that it did. Again.GREAT COURSE, just poor management.
Fun, nice course
course somewhat soggy, but greens were fast and true! Still a beautiful course.
Challenging layout
The course is challenging with elevation changes, bunker placement, and demanding rough. The pace of play was a little slow but staff was out on the course pushing groups along. Fun day and would certainly go back.
Only course if left a review for.
Loved playing this, was alot fun and also very challenging. We were 1st tee time of the day so the pace of play was obviously fast. Being the 1st time playing was difficult on where we were supposed to drive to 1st tee box and as we'll as sometimes between holes. Course conditions were awesome and very much enjoy the greens, they were fast and lots of varriations in elevation. Will be coming back.
Pace of play
Don’t play here unless you are okay with a six hour round. This course is extremely challenging and it says multiple times on the scorecard that you should play the tees best equipped for you. I had two groups of people in front of me that were playing from the blue tees and on three separate occasions they hit their tee shot and it landed behind the white tees. Three hours to play nine holes on a Friday at 2:00 is ridiculous. No rangers were out correcting the pace of play and it was essentially a free for all. Such a shame for such a nice course. I would love to golf here again, but nobody in the world has time for a six hour round.
Great Condition
Course is in great condition early in the season. Green were fast and pure. Got a great deal on Golfnow, so the price was excellent. Driving range wasn't open, but looks like they added some new stuff to it. Beautiful layout that will challenges all skill level of golfers, so make sure you choose the right tee box.
