Hidden Creek Golf Club
About
Nestled along the banks of its namesake Hidden Creek, this is a links-style/traditional combination that rolls through oak and mesquite groves. The fairways are narrow and trees line every hole. The greens are fast and huge, and lakes come into play frequently along with numerous dogleg fairways. The course was designed by Stephen D. Plumer, who incorporated a few split fairways to spice up the layout.
The best hole is the 448-yard No. 8, which forces at least a 230-yard tee shot over water to a tight landing area and an approach down the dogleg-left fairway to a multi-tiered green.
Getting there : From I-20, take I-35 south, and drive 10 miles to Renfro Rd. Stay on the access road and the course is on the right side.

Avoid for Now
This course has really gone downhill. Decent greens but everything else is in terrible shape. Fairways are bare, sand traps are mud, and there are major drainage issues. If you go expect 5+ hour round. Southern Oaks is 10 minutes away and is a superior value. Hopefully they put some money into the course as it's a fun layout.
Weather-beaten
Having played the course once before, I was looking forward to playing it again. I’ve improved my game considerably this year, and I wanted to see how much I could improve over my past round. The course was in rough shape, bunkers were washed out and spots we grass was drowned out were present. Despite the challenges to the course conditions, the greens were very good. I enjoyed the round, as I was paired up with a person with whom I had dozens of mutual contacts. So despite the terrible twosome who ultimately had dragged to a 3 hole gap ahead, I enjoyed the round. This was a fluke, so I won’t hold this against the course, although a Marshall could have helped to manage this at some point. Fun layout, and I’ll play again, when I find myself out in the area again.
Greens are in great condition
Would have given a 5 but every bunker was really rough, some even having grass growing in them. Greens and fairways are in great condition and pace of play is really good. Great course especially for the $$.
Nice course
We enjoyed playing here enough that we will be returning for more rounds in the future. Staff was excellent and professional. Rate of play was painfully slow on the front 9 but the ranger was on top of it and by the time we got to the back 9 it was excellent. Some courses don't have rangers that actively check up things like that which is the main reason we will be returning.
Amazing shape
Course is in unbelievable shape for how hot and dry it's been. Greens are some of the best I've played in a very long time and all fairways we're very soft and green.
Greens were good
Greens were good, fairways ok but like any other course everyone needs some rain. But we had a good time
