Hidden Creek Golf Club
About
Nestled along the banks of its namesake Hidden Creek, this is a links-style/traditional combination that rolls through oak and mesquite groves. The fairways are narrow and trees line every hole. The greens are fast and huge, and lakes come into play frequently along with numerous dogleg fairways. The course was designed by Stephen D. Plumer, who incorporated a few split fairways to spice up the layout.
The best hole is the 448-yard No. 8, which forces at least a 230-yard tee shot over water to a tight landing area and an approach down the dogleg-left fairway to a multi-tiered green.
Getting there : From I-20, take I-35 south, and drive 10 miles to Renfro Rd. Stay on the access road and the course is on the right side.

Course conditions
I have played this course in the past . Great staff and fun course but the last 2 times I played there the fairways were like hardpan and some of the greens were infested with some type of growth on them. May have been from the freeze earlier in the year.
Under construction
Sand traps out of service , several greens out of service , temporary greens in the fairway nothing more than a flag and a cup, worst’s I’ve seen in a while., no one said anything about the course being under construction
Bunker repair.
Bunkers being repaired, but a big deal but should have been told in advance ( before paying full price) that 1/3 of the holes the flag was in the middle of the fairway.
I guess winter set in
I've always loved the course lay out. It's challenging but not to difficult. The conditions of the fairways however wasn't good at all. It hadn't been that long since I played it last and I was impressed with the conditions. Today was a different story. The fairways were tight lies and very dry and a lot of bare areas so if you can't sweep the balls off the fairways, don't go.
Fun course but there was a lot of waiting
Course and range were fantastic, staff was great. They do a good job of making a PA for who should be teeing off and when. But there was no Marshall to keep the pace of play up. Other than that I have no complaints about the course itself
golf carts
Was not always able to lock the brake on the cart was. It also had a popping noise coming from the spring on the back.
golf carts
Golf carts are in verrrry bad shape, our carts brake would not lock. Cart paths are potholed and standing in muddy water the next day after a rain... DO NOT PLAY THIS COURSE THE NEXT DAY AFTER A RAIN. Could only play the front 9 twice to get a full 18 hole game. Will never play this course again. Too many better courses out there to play with in the 45 min. drive.
Avoid for Now
This course has really gone downhill. Decent greens but everything else is in terrible shape. Fairways are bare, sand traps are mud, and there are major drainage issues. If you go expect 5+ hour round. Southern Oaks is 10 minutes away and is a superior value. Hopefully they put some money into the course as it's a fun layout.
Weather-beaten
Having played the course once before, I was looking forward to playing it again. I’ve improved my game considerably this year, and I wanted to see how much I could improve over my past round. The course was in rough shape, bunkers were washed out and spots we grass was drowned out were present. Despite the challenges to the course conditions, the greens were very good. I enjoyed the round, as I was paired up with a person with whom I had dozens of mutual contacts. So despite the terrible twosome who ultimately had dragged to a 3 hole gap ahead, I enjoyed the round. This was a fluke, so I won’t hold this against the course, although a Marshall could have helped to manage this at some point. Fun layout, and I’ll play again, when I find myself out in the area again.
