About
Nestled along the banks of its namesake Hidden Creek, this is a links-style/traditional combination that rolls through oak and mesquite groves. The fairways are narrow and trees line every hole. The greens are fast and huge, and lakes come into play frequently along with numerous dogleg fairways.The course was designed by Stephen D. Plumer, who incorporated a few split fairways to spice up the layout.
The best hole is the 448-yard No. 8, which forces at least a 230-yard tee shot over water to a tight landing area and an approach down the dogleg-left fairway to a multi-tiered green.
Getting there : From I-20, take I-35 south, and drive 10 miles to Renfro Rd. Stay on the access road and the course is on the right side.

Don’t play this course if you’ve played nice courses before. It was an awful experience. Very tough grounds, greens are extremely slow on some holes other holes are extremely fast. Terrible terrible experience
Slow play kingdom
I really like Hidden Creek and using GolfNow but this round was pure torture! The course scheduled a church tournament and the GolfNow tee time did not mention it! Waiting 10-20 minutes every hole was ridiculous, I know what a scramble tournament is like and I’m OK with that but at least warn non tourney players so we don’t make the mistake of signing up for this kind of torture. What’s worse is the course removed all alcohol from the beverage cart due to the tourney! Freakin ridiculousness!
Challenging course
Hole #10 is a monster par 4 especially when the wind is blowing against your face. Nice course layout. Greens rolled true.
Disrespectful employees
I accidentally booked 80 time for the wrong date but I paid for it in advance and the person in the Pro Shop refused don't let me play the day I showed up. They should have squeeze me in considering I already paid for the round. Would not refund my money and told me the only way to make use of the money I've already spent was to come back next week.
Wet and Fun
Course was very wet from the recent rain. Bummer that the range was closed and every hole was cart path only. Greens were soft and in great shape. Love playing out this course!
