About
Nestled along the banks of its namesake Hidden Creek, this is a links-style/traditional combination that rolls through oak and mesquite groves. The fairways are narrow and trees line every hole. The greens are fast and huge, and lakes come into play frequently along with numerous dogleg fairways.The course was designed by Stephen D. Plumer, who incorporated a few split fairways to spice up the layout.
The best hole is the 448-yard No. 8, which forces at least a 230-yard tee shot over water to a tight landing area and an approach down the dogleg-left fairway to a multi-tiered green.
Getting there : From I-20, take I-35 south, and drive 10 miles to Renfro Rd. Stay on the access road and the course is on the right side.

Good Course
One of the best public courses around for the price. Some holes are very tight, driver is not needed on most of the course. Greens are tricky! I play this course often and will keep on coming back.
Great gem
This course was in great shape in spite of recent rain. Challenging hole layouts, could use basic yardage noted on cart paths. Pace of play was excellent.
Another good experience
Course was in good shape and the greens were excellent. Pace of play was good considering every group was a 4 some.

Enjoyed my round. Course was a little tight and did not allow many drivers to be hit. Greens were in excellent condition.

Fun but wet
Played there 15 years ago and forgot how fun the layout was. Frost in am so course was wet. Can't wait to get back in dry conditions. Think it's only $20 after 1p on week days, so I'll definitely take advantage of that. The hot deal was even cheaper and was the reason i went back. Hidden creek should thank golfnow, as it got them 2 more customers as my friend Al was sold olso.
Bad Value
Bunkers are horrible, every part 3 tee box was dirt, they allowed a 6 some ahead of our group. No Marshall, but the practice facilities were the worst I have seen in years. Sorry, this course should be closed until repairs can be made. At best, this is a $10.00 including cart per round course.
Excellently maintained.
Excellently maintained. Greens are always plush and manicured. Run flat and moderate speed. Pace a play is also good considering how well maintained and the low priced. Really perfect for the price.
Off season
It isn't fair to review a course while the grass is dormant. Nice price, friendly staff. It's got a few unpleasant surprises for the first time visitor. I'll definitely give a play in season. The layout is walkable.
