Hidden Creek Golf Club
About
Nestled along the banks of its namesake Hidden Creek, this is a links-style/traditional combination that rolls through oak and mesquite groves. The fairways are narrow and trees line every hole. The greens are fast and huge, and lakes come into play frequently along with numerous dogleg fairways. The course was designed by Stephen D. Plumer, who incorporated a few split fairways to spice up the layout.
The best hole is the 448-yard No. 8, which forces at least a 230-yard tee shot over water to a tight landing area and an approach down the dogleg-left fairway to a multi-tiered green.
Getting there : From I-20, take I-35 south, and drive 10 miles to Renfro Rd. Stay on the access road and the course is on the right side.

First Time
Rained through the previous night so course a bit wet, but not bad. Drove fairways back 9. Greens great but slow as rain didn't allow for morning cut. Nice fairways as well. Tee boxes need work, as do cart path "curbs" although no big deal. Staff very greeting. Look forward to returning when a bit drier and greens cut..
Always in great condition
Great greens and bunkers. Course is kept in good condition.
perfectly enjoyed!
The course was well maintained and organized. There was no rush or delay. Also at the same time, difficulty of course was manageable to beginner like myself.
Greens are perfect.
Really awesome greens. Fairways and tees were good as well but those greens are perfect, every one of them. Kudos.
Great Course
There was a tournament going on right before we went out so the pace of play was very slow as teams were taking their time in between shots. Other than that it was a great course. The greens were soft and responsive and very well kept. The fairways and sand traps were also maintained very well. I will definitely be coming back and playing this course.
Great place
Very nice course a lot of fun to to play greens were slow but they were clean and well maintained.
Amazing Greens
These greens were truly amazing especially for the amount paid. You would have to pay more to find the condition of greens for this $. This course was a lot harder as we played on a 15-18 mph wind day. The fairways are very tight. I would recommend downloading the course so you know how the course is laid out.
Tight fairways, I hit alot of 3 metal drives
Great layout and a good test. Several doglegs and tight landing areas. Greens rolled true. Cant wait to play it for the second time so I know the lay of the land and what to expect.
I've been playing here for years
This is not an easy course. It's in good condition but it is very tight. If you don't hit the fairway you're probably dropping. I played one of my best rounds ever here, and that was by swinging smooth and easy all day long. Old man golf is a must when playing at HC.
Love this place
I love playing this place. I feel for the price you can't go wrong with this course. If you have a bad round you can always go to the grill and take it out on one of those tasty burgers with sourdough, jalapeno bread. Great staff, great food, great place. I am also a veteran and when I went to pay he asked me if I was because I could get another discount.
Slowest round I have ever played!
I have played Hidden Creek many times before and it's an average course with good value for the money. I assumed since I made a teetime on a Friday that the course would be fairly quick to play. I was wrong! They shot off groups every 10 minutes which caused a major back up on every single hole. I waited an average of 4 to 5 minutes between every shot I made. I started as a threesome but the two people I got grouped with only played nine holes so for the back nine I was a single and it was terribly slow. The course has seen better days but the greens were good and held a line. The snack shop does not have fountain drinks and there's only one girl working the counter so it takes a while to get anything you order. Only saw the cart girl once during my round because there was only one of them as well. I will play this course again because of the good rounds that I have had here but this particular time was not a great showing for the facility.
Gets better the 2nd time
The 2nd time to play was better than the first. Wind made it s real challenge. Wish they had more distant markers.
