Hidden Creek Golf Club
About
Nestled along the banks of its namesake Hidden Creek, this is a links-style/traditional combination that rolls through oak and mesquite groves. The fairways are narrow and trees line every hole. The greens are fast and huge, and lakes come into play frequently along with numerous dogleg fairways. The course was designed by Stephen D. Plumer, who incorporated a few split fairways to spice up the layout.
The best hole is the 448-yard No. 8, which forces at least a 230-yard tee shot over water to a tight landing area and an approach down the dogleg-left fairway to a multi-tiered green.
Getting there : From I-20, take I-35 south, and drive 10 miles to Renfro Rd. Stay on the access road and the course is on the right side.

Solid Track
This a new go-to track for me in the DFW area. The price is a value in the area but that doesn’t mean you’re getting less quality on-course conditions.
It has variety on the lay out and the greens roll true. Pace of play has been steady every time I’ve played.
DDW has way better options
I’ve played a few different courses around Dfw since I’ve been here and so far this one has been my least favorite. The pro shop staff were very rude and the pace of play was incredibly slow. We ended up quitting after the 14th hole after our round took four hours…. The course manager sucks and the quality of their stuff sucks. This is not a place I would recommend.
Nice place
Fairways are a little rough. Bare in some spots. But overall well worth the cost of the tee time. Greens were a little bumpy but had a good pace. Will definitely play again
Some tee box and fairway repairs going on that will improve the course.
New carts and much improved course conditions
Last time here was very disappointed in the course conditions. Mostly fairways that were in bad shape (especially hole 9). New carts were brought in (old ones needed replacing) It was quite obvious that HC staff is addressing the course issues and it was much improved. One caveat…. Cary’s now have GPS (good). This GPS limits where you can drive (bad). I understand why these new Cary’s limit where you can drive but it is too sensitive in my opinion. You accidentally venture into an area and get locked down. Can only back out and VERY slowly.
Overall
First time playing this course very well maintained and kept 👍🏽. Will be back to play again
Some greens and fairways are rough and patchy in places but they’re making progress with overall turf conditions.
This course reflects the downturn in the golf industry to a tee.
I have attempted to play this course twice. We made it 8 holes the first time out. We quit after 1 hole this most recent trip. First time out had a slow 6some in front of us and a drunken 8some hitting into us all day. Quit after 8 to avoid a fight when rangers wouldn’t intervene. Today I attempted to play with my Son for his birthday. One of our family traditions. The cart they gave us didn’t work. We reported this before we left the cart area and were told to give it a minute and try again. We did. Still didn’t work. Sloth behind the counter messed with his computer and asked me to try again. It worked. Until we got to our second shots and it died again. Let 2 groups play through while we waited for a second cart to be brought out. Second cart died halfway down the second fairway. Buzzed the clubhouse again. No response. Walked a half mile back to the car and went home. Every place has issues, but how they are dealt with is how I judge a facility. These guys dropped the ball at every opportunity and ruined our day. Thanks for nothing Hidden Creek. There will not be a third mistake. Place needs a starter and rangers badly.
Would have preferred to walk
The carts were awful. I'm not sure if the GPS system is new.
Carts were slow
Would stop you in the path and tell you to turn around. We could have easily been done 30-45 mins sooner if it wasn't for the carts.
They are also boarderline unsafe. They had random speed limit changes espically around turns that would accelerate the cart and then immediately slow down. Will not return for some time to allow them to figure out the kinks in this system.
Course needs drastic new management
Slow pace of play with no marshells, they "upgraded"old carts with tablets and maps so now you cannot drive where you need to get the ball, the course is in extremely bad shape, both fairways and greens. They shouldn't have wasted the money on New carts and instead upgraded the greens and fairways. Mud is 70% of the course
Nice little muni course
A lot of fairways are trash, but for the most part course is in pretty good shape
Really disappointed to hear you had this experience. If you are willing to discuss in further detail please email me at rhoover@burlesontx.com.
