Hidden Creek Golf Club
About
Nestled along the banks of its namesake Hidden Creek, this is a links-style/traditional combination that rolls through oak and mesquite groves. The fairways are narrow and trees line every hole. The greens are fast and huge, and lakes come into play frequently along with numerous dogleg fairways. The course was designed by Stephen D. Plumer, who incorporated a few split fairways to spice up the layout.
The best hole is the 448-yard No. 8, which forces at least a 230-yard tee shot over water to a tight landing area and an approach down the dogleg-left fairway to a multi-tiered green.
Getting there : From I-20, take I-35 south, and drive 10 miles to Renfro Rd. Stay on the access road and the course is on the right side.

Hidden Creek, Hidden Gem!
A very challenging course with a cool layout. Fast greens. Will return
Course Under Repair
Had a couple holes cut short as they are trying to get some fresh sod to set. Overall I enjoyed my round. Found quite a bit of green grass but still hit many shots off dirt. Greens were undulating with rarely a flat putt. I liked the character of the course with dog legs and elevation changes. I will be back.
Finally Green Grass
I enjoyed my round, was impressed with the challenges presented as I made my way around. The grass is coming but two holes were carved up to allow new sod to set it. Greens were relatively true. No yardage markers often had to search around for a sprinkler head. All in all I will be back.
Tee Boxes and Fairways still recovering
Green's were in good shape, Need to rotate the tee boxes a bit more often, stance and ball placement difficult with all the divots. Pace was good until the back 9 when a group took a break and jumped in between us and the group in front of us.
Too Soggy
Pd for 18 but rain from pvs night limited play to front 9. Should have gotten a rain check as course had much standing water. Plus the 2 maintenance mouth-breathers who kept getting in our way for most of the round since we could not get off of the cart paths. Still a good track & worth the play.
Clever, tricky course
An interesting and challenging golf course with a variety of characteristic holes, which will test every aspect of your game. Many risk-reward holes, where an aggressive line may may result in a good birdie opportunity, or in another ball lost in the woods or the creek.
Could be nice
The staff in the clubhouse are very kind and professional. However, the course, although the layout seems interesting, it’s just not in good shape. Most of the fairways are deadpan, and I have to bump the ball a few yards to find a piece of grass to be able to hit off of even if I’m in the fairway. The greens were not bad, and most of the tee boxes were in good shape. I know we are just coming out of winter but we’ve had decent weather and I would expect it to be in better shape. It’s a $25-$30 course how it’s playing today. But if it ever got in good shape, would be a fun little track.
Good course, great for the price
I was the random single paired up during a vacation. Staff was great and the course was in pretty good shape. Greens were a little rough in some spots but overall good. Would play it again if back in Dallas area. Was a windy day so added to the difficulty for me personally.
Better than expected
Considering the winter season, the course and greens were in good shape
Has potential
Biggest knock on the course is there is a lot of big hard pan dirt patches in the fairway. Greens were good and well designed layout.
When you should close the course
We normally enjoy everything about Hidden Creek but when we arrived on Sunday 2/18 to play we were informed that they were hosting a kids tournament and that we would be playing in between a staggered start kids tournament. We had prepaid for the round so we were stuck. A 4 to 4-1/2 hour round is always the goal for player enjoyment, a 5 hour round is expected if you play in a scramble, but a 6 hour round is a complete butt whipping! Don’t know how quickly we will ever come back to Hidden Creek after this debacle. I can’t believe the course would even put regular paying patrons through something like that!
