Golfer Reviews
in bad shape.
I haven't played this course in a while and I see why. The greens were in good shape but the rest of the course needed attention. You had 1 hole that had sand the rest of them had play box sand with rocks. The fairways where dry it was like hitting off dirt. For the price I could have played another course.
Much Better
I always though this course was by far the best in the area, now I can say they are on the way to become the number 1 again. I played this weekend, fairways were almost perfect, traps well maintained, and greens just great. Definitely come back.
Needs a lot of attention
We were never told about the fairways being punched. We did not pay a lot of money for the round but did drive a good amount of time to get there. Seems like this course is going down the drain and quick!
If your looking for a long course, here it is.
Course is long yardage but it does not play as long because the condition of the fairways are hard pan and short grass promoting a lot if roll. Fairly designed. Good challenge. I would recommend playing at least once then personal preference will dictate return trip(s).
poor condition, bad fairways, terrible greens
the course is obviously not maintained properly. the fairways are spotty at best and the greens are not maintained fully.
Much Better
The track was in terrible condition a year ago but they have started to turn it around. Fairways and tee boxes are very green, maybe a little shaggy in places and the greens rolled fine. We enjoyed our round.
Solid Value
Course was empty at 3pm on a Saturday. Could be a good sign or a bad sign. Course is a solid challenge with equal amounts of scoring holes and holes that require above average shots to have a chance. Fairways do have some rough patches in them but for the most part are in good shape. Greens were very smooth and accepted shots very well. 2some played course right at 3 hours felt like the only ones on the course. Course is worth the deals after 3pm on golfnow. Great practice area aswell.
Great improvements
I played here two years ago and it was completely down. I come back this weekend and they have completely turned around. Greens were awesome, fairways almost perfect, rough well cut. Furthermore, no more ropes all over the course. Can't wait to play it again :)
Needs Work, but a nice layout
I have played this course many times over the years. The layout is great, the course length can play long from the back tees. The only problem that plagues this course is it needs more money coming in so it can be better maintained. More water for the fairways to grow the grass. The fairways are super hard so they need to be punched. The greens were punched and sanded as they are trying to at the very least have good greens. I hope this course can turn itself around because it is a fun and challenging layout. I will admit it is hard to go play a course when it needs work, I just hope this won't deter people from investing in it and giving it a chance.
Challenging front nine that eases somewhat on the back.
Had heard about this course that has hosted Open qualifier in the past. Tighter tree-lined fairways on the front open up to more forgiving fairways on the back. Course was in nice shape although greens seemed to be in "transition". Will definitely be back to reclaim a few strokes on the front side.
This course is in its worst shape ever.
This course was so bad that it was embarrassing taking my guests their, I was very upset that no one at the club house even mentioned this. The greens were white from all the sand they had on them. The ball would come to a complete stop once the ball try to go over it while you were putting. This is the worst I have ever seen any course.
Course is okay
I played 9 holes a couple weeks ago and found the course to be appealing and laid out nicely. There were some rough spots in the fairways that needed some attention. The greens were okay, but a couple did have some burnt spots. Overall, it was less than $20 to play 9 holes and had the course to myself and I would say it is worth playing.
Course good..............Greens Poor!
The course is in pretty good condition...........but the greens are poor and the grass is not smooth!
Tee box good fairways good greens need lots of work.
The course is in fair condition and needs some work but has improved from the last time I was there greens need some work but I think there going in the right direction.
good layout
my friends and i play this cours several times a year. last year we played it around the same time and the greens were in terrible condition. we played it later in the summer and they were perfect. we played it on saturday the 11th and the greens again were not in good shape. not as bad as last year but still need work. we have played several other courses in the past couple of month and all of their greens were in good shape. not sure what the problem is here.
Good value for golf now specials
Fairways still bearing the scars of last years drought. Greens fair condition.
Pace was slow
The pace was slow, but I find that to be the case on all texas golf courses on the weekend. They allow you to walk but do not offer a walking rate.As a walker it is hard enough to find a course that allows this, but you are not offered a different fee...That REALLY turned me off to this course.
Layout is fine, the greens are bad.
I have played this course many times and everytime I go back it is worse. The layout of the course is not the issue. The fairways are poor and sparsely grassed, the greens are BAD! It is April and they are already almost dead/ dirt. The only good thing is the bunkers. Don't waste your time go across I-35 to hidden creek. Truely amazing when the neighborhood has 300-500k homes. Go figure?
