Rating 70.7

Owned by the city of Arlington, this course has been around since 1963–it’s located on the north edge of Lake Arlington and surrounded by native trees and wildflowers. Ralph Plummer designed this easy course, incorporating little water and no bunkers.

The first hole is one of the most difficult, playing over 400 yards into a dogleg-left fairway dominated by a huge pecan tree. Holes 13 and 14 play near the lake–the 13th goes 389 yards uphill and doglegs right, and the 14th measures 240 yards downhill to a green protected by water on the left side. Even though it’s a long par 3, there is a dramatic drop from tee to green.

Getting there : From Dallas, take I-30 west and exit East Chase Pkwy. Turn left, travel about 4 miles, and you'll come to the intersection of Spur 303 and Green Oaks Blvd.

Enjoyable round at Lake Arrington Golf course

Tee off this morning around 0930 and finished my round by 12:30. There were other golfers on the course however the pace of play was excellent. The greens and fairways are in decent shape a little bumpy but ok.

Extremely beginner friendly

Very easy layout - no bunkers at all and water on only 3 holes, great for beginners or anyone not looking for a challenge. Well maintained for the price as well.

Great course!

Rough is very rough which puts an emphasis on keeping it in the fairway. The course is pristine overall and greens very well maintained.

For the price, this course is a steal.

Fun Course Worth Playing

I enjoyed my first round at Lake Arlington. The course was in great condition. Tee boxes, fairways and greens were all in good shape. No bunkers and no real water hazards on the course make it a very accessible course to shoot a low score on. There is no driving range, which is a drawback, so your first few holes will be the warm-up for the round.

Good value course

Standard muni layout and amenities. Some fun holes and can use every club in the bag. Par 3’s are long. Greens are on the small side but with no bunkers (like literally no bunkers at all) lots of opportunity to score low and feel better about your game. Gotta hand it to them though I don’t think I saw 1 piece of trash which is rare. No cart attendant which was a negative. Can’t beat the value though for 33 bucks.
