Lakeside Golf Club
About
Named after the bordering lake that the course overlooks, Lakeside Golf Club takes full advantage of the natural landscape of rolling hills and live oaks. Water comes into play on nearly every hole on the course. Streams and dry creek beds dot the course, creating challenges on several holes. The golf course also features undulating greens and narrow landing areas. Designed to provide a formidable test for any golfer, Lakeside Golf Club demands accuracy in addition to careful strategy. One of the most notable difficult holes on the golf course is the par-5 12th, which requires an approach shot over water to a well bunkered green.

Great value for your money. Fast round of golf.
This was my 1st time playing this course (August 30, '13). Very happy with the course and time required to play a round of golf. Will definitely return many more times. If you are an average golfer like myself (shot a 92) you should enjoy this course. Open nature of many holes makes this a very forgiving course which adds to the enjoyment of this course.
The scenery is beautiful and it was quiet and peaceful out there.
First time we played there and we did not feel rushed. The greens were mean and there were plenty of hazards to lose balls in. Challenging course compared to what we are used to. Friendly staff. Will play over and over again!
It's all in what you make it.
Being new to golf all courses are challenging to me . With that said this course can be very challenging. If you are a straight hitter not so much, but if you hook or slice the roughs will bring out the best or worst in you. Considering the summer we have had fairways are hard but decent. The greens are fast but do have some issues around some of the edges. Pin placement ranges from from fairly easy to moderately challenging.
Overall this course is what you make it and I feel is designed to be fun with enough difficulty to be challenging as well.
Fun course to play!
Short holes, tight holes, many irons off tees but overall a very fun course to play. There are some very open holes also.
good course for the price
a little more maintenance would be in order
course layout is good
holes vary from easy to difficult, which is fair
Value for the money
With the 64% off that I got at GolfNow.com I was happy with the value for the shape the course was in. If I had paid the price that the proshop was asking, I would have been disappointed.
Poor course conditions
Tee boxes hard as a rock, several sprinklers broken, greens in poor shape. Never seen the course in this kind of shape before.
This course has very challenging greens.
Typical hill country course. Requires some care in the fairways and is very dependent on rain. The greens are very challenging turtle backs and the overall course can be considered the Merion of Texas. The course has beautiful hill country views with abundant wildlife (deer) and is priced as a great value.
For a $10 special, we got our money's worth.
It is always a sad thing to see good potential in bad repair. The Canyon Lake golf course seems to have fallen on bad times. Most of the course had not been mowed in over a week. We lost a couple of balls in the fairway! One or two fairway bunkers were on the way to becoming grass bunkers. Greens were small, rough, hard, and fast; very hard to hold. The course was short (just 6000 yards from the white tees), but still interesting. We paid a special rate of $10 and got what we paid for.
Recommend course w/ codicil. Ok for $15- but a neglectful maintenance team.

this course is average
good value for the price I paid. Thanks, the foursome had a good time.
Course is in horrible condition.
Got a good price on the green fee thru Golf Now, however, once I got to the course and saw how poor condition the fairways looked and the practice green, I knew something was wrong. The driving range was closed and was told it was because there were no balls to hit. Nothing was maintained at this course- tee boxes, fairways, and greens. Do not recommend even at the reduced price.
Horrible experience
Extremely rude staff and very unaccommodating. This experience alone with Canyon Lake Golf Club will not bring me back, ever. Trust me I will tell everyone I know not to play here.
Friendly staff
The staff was friendly and working hard to maintain the course. It was not crowded and I had a great time.
Staff was very good. Fairways need work
Very pleasant staff. Lunch was good in a relaxing environment. Fairways were poor and bumpy greens.
this could be a nice course but is horrible now
This course is in horrible shape. You are hitting off weeds in the fairways and the greens are all baked out. It could be a nice course if the owners paid some attention to it. I way very disappointed in it as i did play it before when it was in decent shape. It was not worth the money i paid for it on golf now.com
The course needs to mow and weed eat at least once a week.
Course is in bad shape. Worst fairways I've ever played on. After the third hole I knew we had made a bad decision in picking this course. Don't know how the course is open for play.
Hill Country meadow course for a relaxing round.
This is not a well groomed course like in the city, mainly natural wild grasses for fairways, but still very playable, and good for a change of pace and relax in the hill country sunshine and occasional views of Canyon Lake. Good value and a good time if your expectations for this out of the way course are reasonable.
Worst course and poor service
The course is a golf club but it was so horrible I don't see how. You couldn't tell what was the green fairway or rough. The cart was beat up even had graffiti on the roof. The pro shop was rude. The sane traps had more grass in them then the fair ways or what they called fairways. The tee markers we busted up on multiple holes and one had some type of animal feces in it. I have a picture if you think I could've made that up. I played 6 holes and step in feces and I was was so done with the condemed course I went to the pro shop and asked for refund. After do complaining they have my 67 bucks back. If you want to go play you have better luck at the municipal course and its slot nice Austin area has great golf this isn't one of them. Hope this helps
