Coyote Ridge Golf Club
About
Coyote Ridge Golf Club, opened in 1999, features some unusual holes that traverse a variety of unique terrain. Each nine is strikingly different -- the front plays through a burgeoning residential community, is generally wide open and void of trees, and takes on the characteristics of a links-style course.
Water comes into play six times on the front, including the extremely difficult ninth hole, which doglegs left around a lake that stretches all the way around the green. Survive the tee shot by bailing right if you have to, but consider laying up on the approach since the water bends all the way around and surrounds the green on three sides. You’ll still have the chance for an up-and-down par, and playing for bogey is much better that rolling into the turn after a double-digit disaster.
Also on the front, No. 7 is a fun par 3 because of the 70-foot drop in elevation. The tee shot goes 165 yards over water into a very wide, challenging green.
Coyote Ridge Golf Club's back nine rolls through an abandoned rock quarry along the Trinity River, featuring more trees and elevation changes.

Great greens
The course was in fantastic shape - especially the greens which we fast and true. Staff was great. Only improvement was hitting area at the range was beat up.
Overall great- this was by far the best condition for a local course I've seen.
Course Fantastic
Cobsidering my frst time, I really enjoyed the course. There was no need too rush through playing and I found everyone to be very polite.
Clean and well organized!
Thank you!

What a wonderful course
This was the first time I have played this course. Wow was I impressed. Staff was very cordial and the greens are in fantastic shape. Fairways were recently worked on and coming back nicely. Played the fron nine in 1 hour and 40 minutes. Back nine played a bit slower but it is more difficult. Still finished in well under 4 hours and we were extremely impressed. What a absolutely fun round of golf. Will go back several more times this season. Very pleased!!!
good but not great
Greens in good condition just very slow which playing partners said was unusual for the course. Fairways Ok a little hard but not bad. Club house and lockers is excellent and really upscale doesn't match the golf course. I got a rate of $38 which I thought was a great value. Holes are a little weird but it is also pretty wide open. I think it would take a least a couple rounds to figure out the course. I would play again especially for under $40
Quirky Layout - Unfriendly Staff
Its a odd layout, some short par 4's the par 5's are get able but the par 3's are really challenging (was impressed with the par 3's). Greens were really slow, but i was told thats not typical. I didn't appreciate the staff, at least the pro shop. When I asked to walk, they immediately said "no...do you want your money back". Not impressed. They seem to care more about their members, than the public. I suppose I understand but they could try to provide better customer service.
Sweet Greens
this was my first time to play this course. And it definitely lived up to it's reputation! I was running behind for a 8:20 tee time due to a bad traffic accident. So I called the pro shop To see if they could get me out later with a different group. They were very understanding and said that would not be a problem at all! Great customer service when I arrived to the pro shop! The club house was very nice and the staff was awesome! The course on the front nine was wide open but challenging! The back nine was very cool! A lot of blind shot. So club selection is the key! The greens on every hole front and back were in great shape! You can spend a lot more and get a whole lot less! I loved it and will definitely be back to Coyote Ride!!!!
Best Course in DFW
After a few trips to other local courses, including 2 trips to Tour 18 in the past month. Coyote Ridge surpasses any Course we have played. The quality of the greens are impeccable, the Staff are Top Notch. The Clubhouse is inviting & the Restaurant Menu is extensive & the food quality was 4 Stars.
We even went out on Sat for brunch & to watch golf & ended up buying a new putter as the price was competitive, couldn't pass it up! The Pro Shop is well stocked with ladies & men's styles & lots of golf accessories. Definitely will play again as we have played the last two weekends & enjoyed both trips!
First time coyote
Nice layout. Several short part 4 that are tricky. Need to be accurate. Fun course to play. Greens were in better shape that I've seen anywhere in North texas.
I will definitely be back. I have some holes to conquer!!!
Too early
We played to early in the season. Although the greens were beautiful, the fairways were bare.
Another month and heaven
Great course and staff
Everything was perfect, from the excellent friendly staff to the pace of play. Looking for a variety of elevation to the difficulty of play. It's great for average player to good players.
Built on mud.
First off this review should not reflect badly on ANY of the staff they were great.
This course was built an a heavy clay soil and there is nothing between the grass and the nasty clay. If you have a steep swing you will spend more time cleaning the mud off your clubs than you will making shots. Short irons and wedges are especially bad because you tend to take deeper divots. This course is also prone to high winds. I don't think I have played this course when it wasn't windy.
Like I said before the staff is fantastic.
Great course
The course was in excellent shape considering it is still winter conditions. Greens were in phenomenal shape and the bunkers had actual sand ( a rare thing to find). We played in sustained 25-30 mph winds so we didn't get to experience the course as it should be. Me and my buddy already said we are definitely coming back when the weather is great.
Challenging Lauout
Unfortunately only got 7 holes in before rained out. Golf Now promptly credited remaining holes. Will pay again!
Good Bargain - Nice Course
We played the course on a sunny, windy day at the beginning of March. The course does have some challenging holes. Our group was a representation of the average American golfers. high 80's to mid 90's. My impression was that they were really putting some money into the club. They were aerating the driving range so it was closed. The greens were well maintained. It is early spring with the grass still dormant but the fairways seem to run true. They were planting and adding trees to the course - again a good sign of investment. It appeared most golfers respected the course and sanded their divots. I'd play the course again.
Coyote Ridge - February 22nd
Great day for golf in North Texas in February... 80 degrees.
Coyote Ridge has a nice layout and is very fair for senior golfers. We played from the 'white" tees and had a lot of fun.... several birdie opportunities ...even made a couple. The greens were in excellent shape...putts ran true.
Played 18 holes in less than 4 hours... nice pace with know one pressing us.
The staff was very friendly and professional.
I will be returning.
lousy back nine
Front nine was a good layout. Back nine was a joke. Blind shots on every hole. If you don't like seeing the course beyond 150 yards this is your course. Front nine was very enjoyable. Traps were in good shape with playable sand. Greens were in good shape. Based on the back nine I would not go back.
