Coyote Ridge Golf Club
About
Coyote Ridge Golf Club, opened in 1999, features some unusual holes that traverse a variety of unique terrain. Each nine is strikingly different -- the front plays through a burgeoning residential community, is generally wide open and void of trees, and takes on the characteristics of a links-style course.
Water comes into play six times on the front, including the extremely difficult ninth hole, which doglegs left around a lake that stretches all the way around the green. Survive the tee shot by bailing right if you have to, but consider laying up on the approach since the water bends all the way around and surrounds the green on three sides. You’ll still have the chance for an up-and-down par, and playing for bogey is much better that rolling into the turn after a double-digit disaster.
Also on the front, No. 7 is a fun par 3 because of the 70-foot drop in elevation. The tee shot goes 165 yards over water into a very wide, challenging green.
Coyote Ridge Golf Club's back nine rolls through an abandoned rock quarry along the Trinity River, featuring more trees and elevation changes.

Great course and staff
Everything was perfect, from the excellent friendly staff to the pace of play. Looking for a variety of elevation to the difficulty of play. It's great for average player to good players.
Built on mud.
First off this review should not reflect badly on ANY of the staff they were great.
This course was built an a heavy clay soil and there is nothing between the grass and the nasty clay. If you have a steep swing you will spend more time cleaning the mud off your clubs than you will making shots. Short irons and wedges are especially bad because you tend to take deeper divots. This course is also prone to high winds. I don't think I have played this course when it wasn't windy.
Like I said before the staff is fantastic.
Great course
The course was in excellent shape considering it is still winter conditions. Greens were in phenomenal shape and the bunkers had actual sand ( a rare thing to find). We played in sustained 25-30 mph winds so we didn't get to experience the course as it should be. Me and my buddy already said we are definitely coming back when the weather is great.
Challenging Lauout
Unfortunately only got 7 holes in before rained out. Golf Now promptly credited remaining holes. Will pay again!
Good Bargain - Nice Course
We played the course on a sunny, windy day at the beginning of March. The course does have some challenging holes. Our group was a representation of the average American golfers. high 80's to mid 90's. My impression was that they were really putting some money into the club. They were aerating the driving range so it was closed. The greens were well maintained. It is early spring with the grass still dormant but the fairways seem to run true. They were planting and adding trees to the course - again a good sign of investment. It appeared most golfers respected the course and sanded their divots. I'd play the course again.
Coyote Ridge - February 22nd
Great day for golf in North Texas in February... 80 degrees.
Coyote Ridge has a nice layout and is very fair for senior golfers. We played from the 'white" tees and had a lot of fun.... several birdie opportunities ...even made a couple. The greens were in excellent shape...putts ran true.
Played 18 holes in less than 4 hours... nice pace with know one pressing us.
The staff was very friendly and professional.
I will be returning.
lousy back nine
Front nine was a good layout. Back nine was a joke. Blind shots on every hole. If you don't like seeing the course beyond 150 yards this is your course. Front nine was very enjoyable. Traps were in good shape with playable sand. Greens were in good shape. Based on the back nine I would not go back.
Coyote Ridge
Course condition, tee to green is decent. Course seems to always be soggy, even if the conditions are great. Not too sure if that is controllable though. We were paired with a regular who was very pleasant, and fit in to our group perfectly. Staff is always great. Customer service is important to me. Coyote Ridge always delivers in that aspect, which keeps me coming back. Good food and $5 crown royal on Thursday's!
Challenge
The course was in great shape for being winter. The greens were fast and firm....if you like a challenge then this is your course. Be sure to play from the blue tees!
Great place to play.
Got a great hot deal for mid week play. Had not been out here in a year because of flooding .
The course is in great shape. Love the layout and elevation changes. Practice area is top notch.
Clubhouse and grill are one of best in area.
Easy location to get to from anywhere in the area.
Will be back soon.
Coyote Ridge
I have not played here in 2 years so I was not sure what to expect. The course has a great layout and is in great shape, besides a few bunkers. It looked as if the bunkers are under repair so its good to see they know the issue. The greens are lightning fast making the course more challenging. The staff is friendly and very helpful. Hopefully it will not be another two years before playing this track again!
Fun Course
perfect day, and found a hot deal on golfnow. course was in good shape too.
Great Golf
Great course conditions and pace of play. Teed off early morning and finished before noon.
Fun Course
Good time...greens in great shape. Fairways needed to be mowed...some crabgrass. Fun to play.
Excellent course
I was really impressed with the course condition, on course facilities. Everything is in great condition- fairway, green ( a little too fast!). The pace of play was great, we finished in less than 4 hours on Friday. Will play again at this course.
BEST PUBLIC COURSE BAR and GRILL
Staff and Pro Shop are nice.
Practice facility is really good.
Greens are slick and smooth.
Course is in good condition.
Average layout.
AWESOME bar and grill. I spent 3.5 hrs on the course. 3.5 hrs in the bar and grill. Felt like I was at a country club. Awesome food and drinks. The bartender and other staff are really cool and nice.
Take a day off from work. Make an early tee time and have lunch or late lunch after your round and hang out. That's my recommendation for a day at the golf course.
Fun Course
This course is challenging but not too difficult to score. With elevated greens on the back 9 you need to hit precise shots. Greens are fast but hold incoming shots well. Nice clubhouse facility. I like this course and will be back.
Grill 19
Course is in great shape. Great layout. Clubhouse amenities are better than some country clubs. Food is better than 4 star restaurant.
