WORTH THE DRIVE, NEEDS GREEN'S WORK BUT THATS IT. FRIDAY THE 13TH NO BAD LUCK THAT MY LOWEST ROUND YET.

Always enjoy this Course, the Layout was good, Some hard Holes, and some score Holes. Fairways played very nice, Some water holes, Some of the greens ran faster than others., all and all Course played nice, And Great food .

Course is in really good shape and they have some awesome deals. Well worth it.

Fairways and greens have been in very nice condition throughout the entire hot summer. Appreciate management's attention to this.

This course is always in excellent condition. Great cheeseburgers in the Grill Room. Staff is always accommodating.

I don't have to put much here...I'm ready to play there again as soon as I can.

Descent fairways and great greens. Traps need work. The course shows evidence of care going into it.

I love being able to get tee time at super rate. Pace of play is fantastic. Can scoot around course in about 3 hours. I have been working on practicing pretending tennis ball between forearms and also move my right hand farther down the shaft almost like baseball grip. This is helping me with one piece feel of golf club and it worked. Shot an 80 from the tips with four good looks at birdie ( two lipped out and made one). Course has hard and easy holes which is want amateurs need. They don't want to be frustrated playing this already difficult game.

Nice water features on front nine, mostly wide fairways, friendly laid back staff, great value and worth the drive. As good as most city courses, but more value and more relaxed.

Well maintained and very good condition. Staff is professional and courteous.

I play here at least once a week and it never disappoints.

Challenging at times with a few well placed easier holes to give you a break.

Definitely recommend to anyone who plays regularly. Worth the drive from San Antonio and the stop at Haby's Bakery on the way back into town is a bonus.

It's a great course however with it being summer time the greens were a little choppy, as they punched them I guess 1 to 2 weeks ago. It would've been nice to know that before I went and played

Stayed at the Alsace Hotel, and this course is 2 miles away. Nice clubhouse with very friendly staff. Bottled water and ice cooler greet you on the porch. Very small putting practice area, had no time to go to the driving range unfortunately. You make the turn between 10 & 11, called ahead at #9 and food was ready at the grill. Really enjoyed the back 9, front was good, just a little less interesting.

They have done a great job improving fairways and greens. Much better conditions.

Played this course several times and it was in the best shape I have seen it!

Alsatian is a decent little drive out to the west side of San Antonio near Castroville. Solid 3-3.5 star course (Golfadvisor should really allow half star ratings). Conditions were nice. Not 5 star resort quality, but much better than some I've played. Fairways were trimmed and tee boxes were groomed. Greens rolled above average with medium speed. Not tons of break. Some spots in the fairway had pods of crab grass/weeds but nothing that hindered play. They were mostly nice. Rough wasn't super thick. Basically like playing out of a normal cut yard. Decent round. Not an overly tough course. Much more of a country club type feel. Not long. 4 tee boxes. 150 yard markers in fairways but rarely found a sprinkler head. A GPS Unit or laser would be helpful. Variety of holes was average. Nothing super memorable, but had a mix of 4s 5scand 3s. Ditches came in some odd spots at times. Really forced a carry for any hitter that relies on roll out for their drives. Clubhouse was very nice as was the range box and practice green. Homes around the course are far away to not worry about, but were very beautiful to see. In all, a solid place to play if you need to work on your game or to try something new around the area.
