About
Alsatian GC is an 18-hole with water in play. Front side fairly open and flat, almost links type play. Hole 2 surrounded by waterways and bunkers. Back side is hilly and has lots of trees. Super finishing hole with a tree in center of uphill fairway.
Throughout the course you will find challenging and beautiful fairways lined with trees and Spanish Dagger. The course also offers distance wedge game range, practice bunkers, three-level putting green, and a pre-round putting green.
Lodging: The Alsatian Inn is located approximately two miles from the club. A very nice facility, it has ninety rooms, a swimming pool, and a really good restaurant. Children under the age of fourteen stay free.
Distance: About 30 minutes from downtown on Highway
90 West to Castroville. But worth the trip.... Take Highway 90 West through Castroville; turn right at the blinking light just past the Alsatian Inn; veer left on CR 4516. Course is 2.5 miles down on the right.

GREAT COURSE TO PLAY
PERFECT DAY TO PLAY THIS GREAT COURSE. THE GRILL STAFF AND FOOD WAS GREAT TOO. ENJOYED THE DAY - never did find the lady called "Wilma" though....
Really nice course..
The course is wide open. Links type. The fairways were nicely trimmed. The greens were green and rolled true. The course is challenging from the tips. One of the best kept secrets. I will definitely recommend all my friends. By the way, the staff was very friendly.
Love this course, but old slow groups need to move out of the way.
Love this course and the desk people are EXCELLENT.
Two complaints: Older players in large groups do not move aside for faster players. First 11 holes took 85 minutes. Last 7 (after getting behind this group) took 85 minutes. Not slow, but still.
Other suggestion is that this is the only golf course that I have ever seen maintenance workers seem to feel as though golfers should have to work around them instead of the opposite. Several times, I have had to wait while they do their thing. A good work ethic is fine, but paying customers should not have to wait for maintenance type work, emergency work sure, but not standard everyday stuff.

I have played this course for years. It appears to be in the best shape especially the greens. Cant beat playing for 12 + small fee and taxes. Courteous staff members. I like to not wait when I play and they let you go off when your ready or a when it clears up. Always not having to wait long to hit my next shot and I like that. Course is uniquely designged around the natural terrain which make s for some memorable shots. Thanks Alsation!
Best course for the money!
This course is always in great shape the staff is friendly and the price is less than 20 bucks on Golfnow! What's not to like. It's a little far out but for the money my favorite course!!!
Really good course
The staff was extremely friendly and very professional.. With the exception of a few holes, the greens were in good condition. The only issue was that the course was hosting a tournament, and we had four groups in front of us, each group with six players each. However, the groups were fairly quick and the pace of play was fairly fast. Would still go back to play at this course!
midweek golf
Allowed to play earlier than T time, the staff was very friendly and the cart had plenty of power, not like some other courses I've been to lately. I usually play at a fast pace so I really enjoyed not having to wait or having someone else wait on me while I waited on the people ahead. Close enough to San Antonio to pass up the municipal courses and their rates to go to Castroville and play here.
Decent Couse
We play a number of courses in and around SA. We've played this course several times and it's always in good shape for our needs.
Great course, great value
I play here a couple of times a month. The course is in way better shape than years past. I don't believe you can find a better overall deal for 18 holes in or around San Antonio.
Beautiful golf course
Every time we visit San Antonio, we play this course. It is my wife's favorite course because of the advanced red tees. I like playing it from the black tees for the challenge it presents.
The course conditions were excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our day there, it is definitely worth the ride out to Castroville to play this course.
Great course
We play at Alsation a couple times during the winter/spring season.
Very friendly and a beautiful course.
I have played this course for many years and was disappointed with the conditions of the greens.
Course was in very good condition. Enjoyed the layout except for a couple of blind holes. Number 2 was a problem as we played to #3 green because that was the only green that we could see. That caused confusion. Overall we really enjoyed the golf experience and highly recommend the course.

We enjoy the course very much. Staff is friendly and the course is challenging. Greens are a little rough this time of year. Hope to play a few more times before we leave the area.
Great layout, greens need work
Very happy to see the bunkers getting fixed. However, with all the attention the bunkers have gotten, maybe the greens have been neglected. Greens are very rough, with some of them having large GIR areas.
