Good course to start your vacation in this region

Course in good condition considering winter grass in fairways. Greens were good and rather quick. Only issue is pace of play. There were 2 groups of five in front of us both playing for money. We waited on every tee and every approach shot. Really takes the enjoyment out of a round when you wait around on every shot.

I was getting board with my regular city courses so I decided to try the Alsatian. I haven’t been in a year and coming back was refreshing. Course is a great track with challenging par 3’s and hill country atmosphere. Not too far from San Antonio and the quiet little community is friendly.

We love this course! It’s not a PGA course, so don’t hate on it. Cheap prices and a challenging course that presents the regular golfer some fun.

It’s nestled in the hill country and has an awesome ion site restaurant - Julliana’s. Great place to play!

All was great except for the marshals. A marshal followed us for 5 holes then left and a second marshal followed us for another 5 holes then left and a 3rd marshal followed us for another 4 holes. We were never slow, yet all the marshals told not asked that we move on, we played all e8 in 4 hours and 20 minutes. It was difficult to play comfortably because they were so close you would have thought they were part of our group + hounding us, he even stood on tee box for first 5 holes. We may or may not go back, not sure at this time I have played there before several times and was treated like that. All was good except the marshal problem. Not sure of date because this request just came in and I'm certain it was several weeks ago.

This course is always a lot of fun to play, it is challenging with some holes that grant some good rewards.

This last time the only issue I had was that the course allowed two groups of six each and one group of five all of which were directly ahead of us. Even if one group would have allowed us to play through, we would have been stuck behind another. There was no course marshal to ensure that they moved along making necessary to wait at each hole.

I recently returned to playing golf (~ 6 months). Until yesterday, I have only played the Alamo City Golf Trail courses. With the exception of the recently renovated, reopened Olmos course, the others ar suffering from weed infested greens and hard pan fairways.

Not so with Alsatian! Although the grass is dormant, the fairways are in very good shape. The greens roll true and will test your putting skills.

Another +++ is the restaurant collocated with the course. Wonderful, friendly staff, delicious good, and unbelievable prices.

Best of all, the course is significantly closer to my house.

It’s now my home course.

Played here many time but not lately. Usually in great shape especially the greens. This time it wasn’t so good. Most greens were not true- rough and bumpy with dead patches. Many areas especially around the greens and approaches were soggy, as if over watered, even tho we’re in a drought. Disappointing conditions, especially since the prices have increased $5-7 from last year. I’d check before going back.

Loved the course and also the RV resort. We will be back.

The course was in good shape considering we haven’t had much rain lately. The greens looked like an oasis in the middle of all the brown. The course was in great shape and my friends and I enjoyed our round.

Longest round I’ve ever played. The 2 groups ahead were 2.5 holes off the pace. Teeing off 17, group in fairway, and another group on green. No one in front of them. Both groups spent 20 minutes just on the greens. Lucky to finish with daylight.
