Greens are improving but have a long way to go. Fairway gras is super thin. Stonebridge will not allow you to ride by yourself in a cart if you pay for the round through Golf Now. I think that is very inappropriate to force you to ride with a total stranger. Considering a membership at Eagle Pointe
First time on Newport
Newport was in better winter shape than anticipated, and the staff was very friendly. The 18th was an enjoyable closing hole. I will come back when In Houston
Excellent value for the price
The course is a little bit rough around the edges. Overall a great value for the price.
Visiting for the first time
My wife and I really enjoyed Newport. Very friendly staff and especially loved the finishing hole! A little wet but I’ve played worse in January in Houston. Greens were rolled and ran true. Could have used a little more leaf vacuuming on the edges, but overall pretty good conditions
Good bargain golf
The course, conditions are fair at best. The greens are improving, but have a long way to go. Hopefully the HOA will continue to make improvements and invest money into a great course layout. 40 years ago it was a LPGA tour. Stop
Nice course build in a subdivision
Nice course. Challenging but fair. Par 3 are kind of similar with front bunkers. Great course. Very friendly staff. It’s good for all levels
Fun course except for Wet Greens & Overbooked
Played on 12-28-22. This course is one of my favorite places to play & I usually play here every 2 weeks. Good layout, carts are clean/run well & the pro shop staff are always friendly. Water stations are a nice plus & the prices are usually reasonable.
Negatives- Greens are over watered & it makes walking/putting very difficult! Some of the fairways suffer from the same issue. (It was Not rain related) I’ve seen sprinklers going well after sunrise & while players are trying to play. Would timers on the sprinkler system (for early soaking) be possible? Apparently no player was turned away yesterday & we waited for the log jam to clear on every hole. Looks like they overbooked.
Marshal was rude. Standing water everywhere. Bunkers were really bad
Too many issues to review. Should cost less for this course in the condition it’s in.
