Stonebridge at Newport

To start this review, I completely understand course rules and regulations. However, the staff and course Marshall’s couldn’t have been more rude in regards to upholding them. Secondly, the course conditions in most of the tee boxes and greens are horrible. Mower tire ruts, extremely low spots where puddling and mud standing even on weeks without rain. If you’re going to uphold standards, rules, and charge the amount this course does, how about making sure people actually want to play and come back to play at your course. I certainly will not.

Played here Sunday morning with my son in-law and one of his friends. Greens rolled well fairways was good tee boxes a little hard carts great shape. It was only a little slow because couple in front of us was playing out of one bag and not real good but pace was faster then most other places. I’m ready to play again soon

Had a great time. Beautiful day, course a little dry and greens inconsistent, but still a great value!

Staff is always welcoming and friendly.

Peaceful and scenic course 30 miles from the hustle and bustle of Houston. Great beginners course with plenty of countryside vibes. Staff is friendly and weekday play the course is pretty empty—making it even more relaxing. A great getaway in Harris County.

Everything was well kept except for a few things. The greens had a lot of little patches and bumps on them. Didn’t really roll true. Also, there were a lot of very soft spots in random areas in the fairways and around the greens. Not really anything they can do about that though. Overall it’s better than most in the area for the price. Had a great round.

We enjoyed playing the course until we saw the water soaked, sloppy greens from the sprinkler system. I can’t understand why there’s no other time to soak the greens than right before players start their game. It would seem that timers would be a good idea or have a worker start watering a few hours before the course play begins. A working Marshal to keep pace of play moving would be a plus. Positives- tee boxes, carts & cold water stations. Fairways were decent.

Overall, a fun course. My only gripe would be that the greens were in bad shape.

This is great little course. It’s not sawgrass but for the money it’s a great little track. Big shoutout to the staff who helped me regain a lost item as well.
