The Range Photo submitted by FEc3nDR8gcpxp6en28hk on 03/30/2020
This is a great course for the money. Not too tight or too much water for us average golfers.
Needs to have all water containers filled. We stopped at the pro shop after the front nine since the cantina was not open to get a cup of ice water. Charlie went in and got us some. When we got to 11 where is supposed to be water, no water. It wasn't until three or four holes later we got water. I would highly recommend having a Marshall with some cups and ice and water to offer players on these hot summer days. I will bring my own water/gatorade next time. At least the ball washers had water this time. Bring back Al Ewing!! Never happened when that green's keeper was here.
Play through it!
The course has some issues with the watering of the course. It rained for about a hour before we got started. The greens were still in good shape, with the rainfall on the course. Hope the course works out the water issue, can be a top notch course once again.
Great potential needs maintenance
I was very disappointed once I arrived at the course. It had been a few years since I played here last and I remembered a completely different place. The faiways and greens were some of the worst i've seen in years. Burnt fairways and dead greens all over the course. This course is in a good location and I personally don't understand how it can be in this kind of shape with all the rain we've had in the area this spring. The crew must not fertilize or water the greens. Will not return.
Waste of money and time.. Course is in horrible condition... Staff is rude.. An abomination to the game of golf.
This course is a disgrace to the game of golf. The staff is very uninviting and very unprofessional. The cart girl was attired in torn cut off blue jeans with a dirty tshirt. Next comes the ammenities. The bathrooms were very unkept, while the water coolers on the course were either missing from the holder, empty, or had mildew growing on the spout of the room tempature water cooler. Next, the course is in horrible condition. The greens have large patches of dead grass and brown dirt on the surface. The fairways are like rocks with all sorts of tree limbs, ant hills, and actual tire tracks. Sand bunkers should be called cement bunkers, I highly advise anyone from hitting out of them unless you are using a tin can attached to a broom stick as a golf club. The driving range is a joke. The distance signs are a mixture of cardboard and plywood with spraypainted numbers on them. The range balls would be better if there were walnuts. Seriously lacking and a shame of waisted space and talent that this course has if it was well managed and maintained. Last, the pace of play is miserable. They allow groups of 15 or 20 go off at a time so you will wait between 15-30 minutes before each hole to tee off. For the money you will spend at this course it should be cut into a third. You might as well play puttputt at a local arcade or go right down the road to Redwolf and play a much better course.
Enjoyed the round
The course had a good layout with small greens that required a good shot to stay on. Pin placements were in good locations to tempt you but it was better to just aim for the center of the greens. Several fairways are losing grass with the dry conditions but the staff was working to keep the greens watered.
The driving range had a good tee area but the range was just a field to hit into (no targets, etc.).
All in all, the course was fun, the staff was working to bring the course back to better condition, and if weather helps with water it could be a great place to play.
Course needs attention
Overall the course was Okay. The greens do need some help as some of the greens were black. I know that it has been very hot summer so far but, a couple of greens in horrible shape and some were in good shape as well. Not bad for $20 and close to home.
Good pace of play
I had a fun round. The fairways have a real crabgrass/weed problem-needs weed killer and water. The greens were not in the best of shape, bare patches and bumpy. I really like the layout but more work is needed, I checked the would not recommend to a friend because I wouldn't right now. With some work, this would be a really nice golf course. 9 and 18 are good holes.
Fun round!
Played early in the morning Memorial Day. Course was packed but the rate of play wasn't bad at all. It's a fun course, not too challenging. Good value for the money.
The course was really beautiful.
The pace of play was really great as I was able to play right at 3 and a half hours. The front desk person was not very cordial as the cart girl but that did not spoil the experience I had at this course.
Well worth the price
Good course with good value for money. Very small bald patches on fairways that need attention but I have seen that almost everywhere. Would definitely return.
Love the course just wish they would take better care of the greens.
Fairways were in better putting shape than the greens
.
We had a lot of fun playing this course. We had a foursome and not many players out there so we paced ourselves. This course has a nice layout. The sand bunkers need some attention.
Good Course
Good golf for the money! Greens are not pristine on some hole but overall are good quality.
Nice course
This course was in good shape and fun to play. There is no food other than snacks, candy, ect. I like a sandwich or burger at the turn.
I like the couirse very much
This course always moves at a great pace. On Friday with a crowd we played in 4 hours
Good challenging course at a great price
Staff was super, We were off at the exact time and the pace of play was great. I found the tee boxes, fairways, sand traps to
be great. The greens were ready to bereseeded for the summer but were very puttable. Gas Carts were in great
condition. I will be back and look forward to playing this
course many times this summer.
Seen it's better days
Lots of down trees (old rotten ones) still laying along the fairways. Fairways didn't appear to be watered or cared for other than mowing. Greens were in poor shape. A few were okay, but most had bald spots or some other type of blemishes. Just another old course that slowly dying. Sad to see because in it's hayday (20 years ago), it was highly thought of. A short course but the layout/design is interesting. Surrounded by an old neighborhood that is suffering the same fate. I just started learning this game, but I know enough to tell this course is dire need of a large cash infusion. I suppose for the low greens fees it's fine for a local like me to learn on.
Good greens. Fun, placement course. Good chipping/sand practice area.
This is a fun, placement type course. The greens are good. Need a little care, but for winter conditions, very playable. Nice sand in traps....unfortunately, I experienced that on several holes. Great value.
Once an Lpga stop, this course has good bones. I was there on a breezy Monday morning.
The course was quiet , well maintained and the carts were hot and ready to go. I had a great reflective round of golf the I very much enjoyed. Can't wait till Spring.
