Stonebridge at Newport

Decent course but $38 is too much for a course who gives you your range balls in a Walmart bag and used 5 gal buckets for trash cans. Tee boxes not mowed and full of weeds.

For what they charge the course and the greens need work. Played out there 3 Different time. Slow play greens in bad shape will not be returning to Newport.

2nd time playing this course. Got a great deal, $20/person. Play the tips and it'll be the longest 6800 you've played in a while. Gotta hit it straight off the tee and just bump em everywhere, even bunkers. 1st time players, definitely refer to course map and yardages to hit right stick off the box!

The greens was ok but the fairways needs more maintance the bunkers as well, aver all is in good conditions hole 18 is beautiful.

The course was about as I expected for the winter we had but the grrens could have been better wuth the sun and warm weather we had lately

Good friendly people settled in a nice neighborhood.

First time at Newport and had some mild hopes of a good experience.

Pace of play is fine. Played the white tees, as 6,500 yrds is what I usually play. Pretty tight fairways over all so make sure your driver is working or use another club to keep it in play. The forest off the fairways are unforgiving.

The condition of the fairways and traps was the biggest disappointment - plenty of clover and weeds in the fairway, and the traps were all hard packed. Greens were in so-so condition, but so are a lot this time of year.

Having said that, the layout can be challenging. I like the design. Water only on two holes, but the tight fairways and a lot of traps make you think about your course management on most shots.

I will go back because I got a great weekday deal through Golfnow, but would not pay rack rate at this point.

This was my first time playing at Newport Country Club. Overall, this is a beautiful course. Only problems we had here that it was after a day of rain, so there were a few wet spots here and there on the course, and for some reason, it looked like the greens had been burned or something. hardly any grass on them, and there were a few that had very large divots. We tried to repair a few, but some were just so bad, we couldn't do anything about it. In the spring time, I bet this is a gorgeous course, with all the trees surrounding it.

Great value greens in good shape fairways could use some fertilizer however for the price paid im happy

Great value. Good course but weeds in most sand traps. Shot my best round to date!

Course condition is too poor and bad to play. I don' t want to play again at Newport golf club and don't recommend anyone to play there.

Fun course. Front nine were in great shape. Greens on back nine were not as nice but still OK. Very wooded area. Deer on fairway on back nine. Will play here again.

Some of the greens need some work but otherwise the course was in good condition.

The course maintance could be better and the green on 6 is in bad shape. It is a fair value for the price.

My husband and I booked a 10:30 am Monday morning tee time. I was excited to get to play a new place, but was very disappointed in this course. It was poorly maintained...from the restrooms without soap and tissue paper, to the need for cart path repair. The greens were being mown... almost every one of the holes, and while we were playing. The mowers left large rows of cut grass in the fairway. Not pleased with this course at all.

This is a very nice course is close to everything yet feels like a mini vacation. Fun course and will play again very soon.

The course layout is great. It is too bad it is not in better shape. I can understand the rough and fairways being somewhat long due to all the recent rain in the area. I played on a Thursday and the holes on all the greens could not have been cut for many days, grass was growing over the edges, they were beat up and the greens needed to be rolled. This is not expensive maintenance. A number of greens had bare patches. Even for the excellent price of a hot deal, it was not worth it. If a putt went in it was pure luck.

A lot of fun to play - I'll be back for sure.

Overall the course was in great shape - a few of the greens had some brown spots from the summer but the holes were placed so this didn't interfere.

The greens were fast and many had nuances that force you to putt well.

The rough and non-fairway grass were super fluffy - meaning that you aren't going to hit near the green and roll it up. This grass traps it so you're actually going to have to make the shot, because there is lots of 'taller grass' strategically place around the green.

The fairways are pretty narrow and there are trees and bunkers in the all the right places to make sure that you're actually hitting the shots. There are lots of well placed bunkers (around the greens), so you're going to have to earn your pars on a lot of holes.

Newport is fun to play. The layout is great. Has some history when the LPGA used play there in the 70's. It's just a shame the greens on Sunday afternoon are marginal at best. They are long grainy with bare spots. The same greens seem to have the same problems. (# 4). Doesn't look they ever sand or aerofy them let alone put roller on them. Don't mean to be cruel but I have seen another course in the area in worse shape become fantastic. "You can do it" and I would transition more rounds to Newport.

Nice course. Laid back atmosphere. Cheap. Maintained. If it wasn't so far out, I'd golf here more.
