About
Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer came here in 1963 to endure one of Texas’ hottest weeks ever, with temperatures rising as high as 113 degrees during the PGA Championship tournament. Nicklaus prevailed that week, and eventually he returned to renovate Ralph Plummer’s original layouts. Plummer’s courses were mostly flat, with immature, basic greens. Nicklaus toughened them up with mounding, bent-grass greens and other subtle features to make them more of a championship caliber.
The Blue Course was redesigned by Nicklaus in 1985, and was improved with more updated features such as mounding and grass bunkers. The greens were replaced with bent-grass, and waterfalls were added around holes 5 and 11.

Excellent private club with friendly members and outstanding facilities.
Tour caliber courses and practice facilities that are in impeccable shape!
Courses, practice areas and greens are in excellent shape. Additionally DAC has invested this past year in further enhancing their two course with new tee boxes, re-sodding dirt area in rough and worked on enhancing their very fast greens. One suggestion I would make to them in to implement entry and exit points to their fairways so carts are not driving through the rough! Courses such as the TPC Las Colinas and Lakewood CC have done this and their rough has grown in thick and lush. DAC should try this has it would only enhance great courses.
Classic Jack
Played this course as a guest. Came on a demo day and wish i showed up even earlier to hit all the club makers new clubs. The course is classic jack nickalus design. (Most holes go from left to right) which isnt fun if you like o draw the ball. But other than that really solid course. I look forward to playing again at some point. Great conditions.
