Mesquite Golf Course

About
Mesquite’s muni, located in the Duck Creek floodplain, was built in the 1960s by Leon Howard. Playing only 6,280 yards from the tips and void of bunkers, it makes for a fun day on the links. In fact, water comes into play only seven times–not as much as you might think for a floodplain course that has been ravaged by floods over the years.
The most challenging hole, No. 13, has water. It’s a 418-yard par 4 that doglegs right and features a tee shot over a creek, followed by a long approach to a tough, narrow green.
Other notes: Garrett Gill and George B. Williams redesigned this course.
Getting there : From I-30 east, take Northwest Hwy. for .5 mile to North Hwy. 67 and the course.

Fast greens fair course.
Played 18 with two terrific younger guys- beautiful day and friendly play. Played quickly but seldom had to wait.
Decent course for the price. A couple pretty tough holes and tight driving on many holes. Fairways and rough areas a little mix/match. Super friendly staff and pace of play was great, finished under 4 hours on a Saturday morning.
Challenging course, friendly staff
First time playing this course. Staff was friendly, gave some advice on 1st hole and 16th par 5 hole. Lost quite a few golf balls, but I'm not very good. There is a lot of thick brushy/woods and water on the course. Some holes were narrow to navigate through. Course was pretty wet after lots of rain the previous 2 days, but the greens were in good shape from maintenance poking holes in the greens. Greens were challenging, as well - lots of undulations on the greens for challenging putts. One hole looked like the course designer had fun with a bull dozer and created moguls in front of the green.
Best greens in DFW for under $50
In my opinion, I havent found better greens for this price. They are fast and roll true. They are a bit hard to get the ball to check and they have a lot of slope, so putting is very challenging. The rest of the course is not bad and is always a fun challenge. Their summer afternoon special for $26 is impossible to beat.
Friendly and nice greens
The staff was friendly. Nice to see Kyle at Mesquite GC. As a past member of Waterview he has always been helpful. Very nice greens and grasses healthy 👍👍
MGC
I liked the course. The people i was paired with made it terrible. There was also a helicopter searching for a guy for about 2-3 holes. For those reasons i would play anywhere else.
First impressions mean everything
Wow 2nd great surprise with another new course in 3 days. Played from the ladies’ with some older gentlemen but was just really impressed with the course conditions, above average layouts and amazing pace and top notch value. 8.5
Bring Your Putter
Toughest greens I have seen in a while! Cups cut in some challenging locations and super fast!
Mesquite GC
Short layout, but challenging greens in good condition.
Has plenty of bite with Creeks and water coming into play.
Get on while its good
Haven’t seen the greens on this course in conditions like they are currently, ever. Cut low, roll true and fast. Tee boxes in great shape as well. Played as a single with 1 other and a twosome on a Saturday - 4hr round.
