Mesquite Golf Course
About
Mesquite’s muni, located in the Duck Creek floodplain, was built in the 1960s by Leon Howard. Playing only 6,280 yards from the tips and void of bunkers, it makes for a fun day on the links. In fact, water comes into play only seven times–not as much as you might think for a floodplain course that has been ravaged by floods over the years.
The most challenging hole, No. 13, has water. It’s a 418-yard par 4 that doglegs right and features a tee shot over a creek, followed by a long approach to a tough, narrow green.
Other notes: Garrett Gill and George B. Williams redesigned this course.
Getting there : From I-30 east, take Northwest Hwy. for .5 mile to North Hwy. 67 and the course.

Good times.
This golf course is always fun to play. The staff is very accommodating and helpful. I like the greens because they run well and I also like to lay out of the course. Thank you.
Course going DOWNHILL
This track gets a lot of play, mainly by golfers looking for a reasonable price but also the same golfers that never fix divots or ball marks (although the greens are some of the fastest I've ever played which makes summer play (even now) difficult to hold approach shots on the greens. Many weeds in fairways, some fairways have little grass even after all the rain here.
That said the pro shop, cart boys and marshals should emphasis the use of FULL BOTTLES of sand on carts to repair divots and NOT driving off the cart paths just because they imagine other carts are coming at some point. NOT! Use 90 degree rule and stay on paths. This will make for better course conditions.
Cart Parh Only
Course played well even with wet conditions the ball did not plug in the fairway. I was pleasantly surprised on how well the layout was with cart path only due to the recent heavy rains. The greens rolled true and were moderate speed for being wet. I was impressed with the fron nine. Did not get a chance to play the back due to the weather. I look forward to playing the whole course in dry conditions. Overall I enjoyed my stay, the staff was great.
Greens are in great shape
Course was in great shape even with all of the recent rainy days
We’d play it again!
This was our first time playing this track and we were pleasantly surprised. The layout was good and the greens were in great shape. The fairways could use some work but we were okay with it based on what we paid. We’d play again for sure.
Return to home
I hadn’t played Mesquite in at least 15 years. This was the course I started playing golf on over 30 years ago(wow, unreal to actually say). I was very happy to see it so well maintained. Enjoyed every second of my round. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. The two golfers I got paired with were equally enjoyable. Hopefully it won’t be so long before I play there again.
Back for the first time in a few years
Love this track, the greens roll so true and they’re quick, which I love. No dead areas, fairways in really good shape. One of the best public courses around the area, highly recommend
Great shape
Course was in great shape after recent rain. Pace of play is good as well.
Day in Mesquite
As usual the Greens are the Star of the Show.
Great conditions all around .
Worth the trip.
Best hidden gem
I hate to give this place such a good review because that attracts more people but they deserve it. Lightning fast greens, hard layout and fun traps. The only thing I’d complain about is the shared cart thing which id never do at any other course but this course is worth the hassle of meeting a weird random
Awesome First Time
Played the day after it rained. Course drained very well. Greens were well-maintained and played very fast (loved it!). Fairways in great shape. Staff was friendly and gave some good tips on playing the course. Didn’t use the range before.
I’ve paid twice as much for courses that didn’t play this well.
