Aurora Hills Golf Course

About
Aurora Hills Golf Course is a par-72 course that stretches over 6,600 yards. Henry B. Hughes designed the course that opened in 1969. The fairly flat course has wide, tree-lined fairways and water hazards come into play on some holes. There are also a good amount of sand bunkers. Beautiful lakes situated on the course create a tranquil atmosphere. The course is easily walkable and the beautiful landscape makes for a nice stroll. The signature hole of this municipal course is the par-5 10th hole. It is considered to have lovely, scenic views. Aurora Hills Golf Course's greens are bent grass while the fairways use Bermuda grass.

Best greens in Aurora
These greens, while rarely breaking as much as they appear, have been great this year. Fellow golfers fixing divots wouldn’t hurt them be even better.
Pace of play and price could use some improvement.
Very slow pace of play. Waiting to hit on almost every shot on the front 9. Seems like they had a lot of 9 hole only players as the back 9 was wide open. Maybe consider letting my 9 hole only off on the back to help with this.
Nice Course.
Conditions good! Greens excellent. Pace of play was good although it was a Thursday. Staff friendly. Good value! Recommend.
Some of the best municipal greens in the state
These are great greens for the money, I sure wish more people would fix their and another ball mark to keep it that way- but just great!
Hyped upon arrival, felt very let down
Course reviews and hole layout looked quite appealing, even looked (and was) in great shape on the drive in.
Pro shop staff was friendly and pretty straightforward there.
Driving range had only roughly a dozen pads, I wasn't able to get on after 20 minutes so decided to putt on the wide open practice green.
I was a single, paired with two mid 20yo friends and a solo 30something guy. Myself and the two friends being first time players at the course.
I was immediately disappointed with the 1st hole; Pretty severe dogleg right, narrow fairway with tall native grass on left side around dogleg, driving range area across cart path from tee to green on right, no net either. I had a hard time picking out any targets so grabbed an iron and hoped for the best. Ball found the driving range area (being so close) about 30 yards in. Two tee shots later in our group I watch in disappointment as the ball collector on the range rolls right over my ball, gone! Re-tee and finally off.
Entire course is virtually flat as a pancake, each green read to have a little break but was time and again almost dead straight. Every par 4 or 5 was either absolutely straight, or a nearly 90° dogleg. All Par 3s were basically the same yardage at 180 yards. Got mundane kinda quick...
30something only played 9.
10th hole might have been the worst hole I've personally seen! 90° (or more) dogleg right, water right all the way to green. 220 to end of fairway from tee box, or absolutely blind shot over water to extremely tight fairway (15 yards at best). No option, and left with no chance to take on green in 2. Typical layup area has a large arm of the lake stick out into fairway, forced to a mid iron in with 3rd. I was sick and picked up on a hole for the first time in more than 20 years. Another guy in my group also picked up..
I merely went through the motions on then back 9 from there, feeling like the same 9 with a slightly different backdrop anyway.
I personally won't be back, and it didn't sound like the other two first timers to Aurora Hills would either.

Better off booking through the course’s website if you’re a senior. Senior discount is not available booking through GolfNow App.
A good traditional course
The course was in good condition and the pace of play was excellent. The course is long and flat and is average. It’s not very challenging.
The restaurant is excellent and the burgers hit the spot.
Solid Course
It’s not very difficult but it’s long and you may need three shots to reach a par four green. The pace of play was excellent. The course conditions were very good. It’s a real bargain.
Greens were in great shape.
Greens putted true. Fairways were also in good shape.
Good day
The pace of play was excellent, but the fact that carts were not available probably had a lot to do with that. While there were lots of wet spots throughout the course, with standing water (due the constant rains experienced lately, the course still was in good condition. One tee box was being reconstructed, but there were no other issues.
Great as usual...
Windiest day ever at Aurora but was still enjoyable to work out some striking kinks...tnx
