Blackstone Golf Course
About
The player-friendly Blackstone Golf Course boasts a reputation of being an excellent course for families. The gently undulating landscape is approachable to beginners while still providing a fair amount of challenge. The rolling terrain requires accuracy but most holes allow for short irons if you're willing to risk hitting your ball into the treetops. There is a stream that meanders through the golf course, coming into play on a number of holes. It also crosses through Blackstone's driving range. Strategically placed bunkers are also scattered throughout. The greens are in excellent condition, providing great putting surfaces. Blackstone Golf Course has garnered a local following because of its playability, which is helped by three sets of tees, and extremely reasonable rates. It's an excellent location for a casual round.

Beautiful Golf Course
Course reminded me of courses in central Michigan. Lots of elevated tee shots and tree lined fairways. Greens were in great shape and the price was extremely reasonable.
Always enjoy Blackstone.
Blackstone is in great condition. Greens were nice to putt on. Fairways were good too. Pace of play was great. Glad I made the hour ride.
Ups and Downs
Interesting course with lots of hills which is different than most courses in the area....need to think about your shots due to the hills and ravines on some of the holes....challenging but not too difficult...
Opening Round
As this was our first round since last Fall, we didn’t want to pay top dollar to dust off the cob webs. It’s an ok course to do this. Conditions a little rough.
Hidden Gem
Fun course to play. Some up and down hill shots which are unusual in Florida
In good shape
I like the layout and they overseed the greens are in good shape
Painful Pace of Play
We very much enjoy playing at Blackstone as it has a very interesting layout with challenging greens. The course condition was very good for the time of year. The only negative was pace of play. We were behind a very slow foursome who appeared to be playing a set of tees beyond their ability. Our round took just over 5 hours to complete and we barely got it in before sunset. There was no Marshall on the course to speed up play, and I suspect that might have improved the day. There were at least 3 groups behind us that left the course before finishing as they knew they would not get done before sunset.
Fun time
Always a good day when we play Blackstone,, the course was in good shape. Worth the 50 mi round trip.
Excellent condition for January.
I enjoyed my round. There are definitely some nice birdie opportunities if you can hit it 250yds. It’s fun lacing a nice long draw into the side of one of the many long slopes that run from tee to green and watch it run out another 30yds. Sand and water don’t really present any issues but there are plenty of giant ravines that make you choose between laying up or going for it! The greens roll true and are real nice. And of course they get even faster after they’ve had a chance to dry out in the afternoon.
Enjoyable Day at Blackstone
Third time was a charm as I was finally able to figure out the treacherous greens. Weather was great, course in very good condition for time of year, staff were friendly and pace of play was good... not great, but good! We will be back and have no hesitation in recommending for an enjoyable golf round round at a great price.
We love this course-Difficult course if you’re not in good physical shape
The course has many elevations and would be tough for anyone that isn’t in good condition. At times it gets overbooked and pace of play is slow. Conditions are always good
Weatherman Got it Wrong!
We booked a repeat visit to Blackstone because we very much enjoyed our first visit and wanted another crack at the very challenging greens. We were expecting sunny and mid to high 50’s but, sadly, it only got to mid 40’s and the sun never appeared. It was tough playing conditions but course was in very good shape for the time of year and we would cheerfully return (hopefully on a warmer day)
Nice and green even in Jan .
This course is always in great shape . Well worth the drive from Ft Walton .
Very nice course tucked neatly away from the more expensive resorts in the area. Staff were friendly and helpful. The course was in good condition and a pleasure to play. Excellent value for the money.
great day
course in very nice condition. I especially like the rolling hills with watercourse in gullies.
