Windswept Dunes Golf Course
About
Windswept Dunes Golf Club tumbles across a dramatic landscape covered with white sand dunes accented by lush green fairways. The golf course appeals to players of all skill levels thanks to player-friendly features that are balanced by strategically placed hazards. Although each hole shares the characteristic of being lined with dunes, they each maintain a unique character. The rolling fairways are often wide and generous off the tee and the sand dunes, which stretch from tee too green, are only punishing of the most errant of shots. The approach shots though are as demanding as the tee shots are forgiving. There are numerous bunkers fiercely guarding the large, smooth greens. While the occasional water hazard comes into play, the bunkers are the most challenging element of Windswept Dunes Golf Club.

Hidden Gem in the Panhandle
This was my first time playing the course after having it recommended to me by many people. The initial greens fee has kept me from playing ($135), but after getting a hot deal, I can say this is the nicest course in the panhandle. The course is immaculate and well kept. It offers 7 different tees for players of all skill levels. If there is any negative, and it's not a negative in reality, the greens are undulating to a level where it feels like you are almost playing goofy golf. Most greens do not have a large flat spot on them, so be prepared for hard breaks and lots of movement.
Oh, and the course is perfectly laid out to mix with nature.
With that said, I will be trying to play this course as much as possible.
One of the Best in Panhandle
I have played there about a half dozen times. I had family and other guest in town for festivities in the 30A area competing with Fall Break and Wine Festival and tee times were a premium. Windswept was a perfect balance with experienced, recovering, less than 5 year golfers, quality and price. Condition was great (after morning rain with good drainage), layout well balanced for golfers from relative beginners to Palmer wannabees, Ken and the staff in the club house make this a must play. I have lived and played all throughout the US and Europe. Give it a try regardless of your level.
Fun and Nice Course
The course was in great shape and a fun layout. The GPS on the carts was nice so we could judge where to aim, as there were quite a few blind tee shots and it was our first time to play. Course conditions were great and the pace of play was really good, although we played mid week. I highly recommend this course.
5 1/2 hour round. What a joke
I will never play this course ever again. They completely overbooked the course and it was absolutely absurd. If you want to waste 5 1/2 hours of you life play here.
Nice track.
Overall conditions were good. Greens were pretty slow. They rolled fine just slow. Course Layout is good.
Loved it!
Awesome layout! If you go to Panama City on vacation make sure to play it!!
Fantastic shape!
The course was in fantastic shape and a real pleasure to play.
Hidden Gem
This was our first time playing Windswept Dunes and the course was immaculate! Lots of strategic shots with bunkers in the most opportune locations, huge, beautiful greens and every tee box felt like you were on a PGA manicured one. Could have spent 2 hours on the practice area with hitting space for 20-30, a putting green with plenty of undulations and could easily handle 20-30 players, plus a chipping area where you could chip from 30-40 yds out. Staff was super friendly and warned us which holes might have alligators. It will be our first place to play when we return to the area.
Challenge but fun
This is probably one of the more challenging courses I’ve played. Numerous blind tee shots throughout the day. You have to use the cart GPS, know your numbers and be fairly accurate off the tee. Thick ruff that is a challenge to get out of if you miss the fairway. Greens rolled true and were in great shape. Definitely plan to play this course again when in the 30A area.
Fabulous
We saw the back tees # (nearly 7800 yards) and could not resist the challenge. It was super challenging, we hit a ton of woods and long irons and had an absolute blast. Can’t recommend this enough. Every hole was fun to play.
Fun round
I have been thinking about playing this course for a few years but thought it was too far. The trip from Seaside area was actually not bad. No traffic and only took 22 minutes. Fairways and greens were in really good shape. Lots of sand and high rough but the fairways were wide and greens are huge. It has been a while since I had to pay for range balls. But range and practice green were in good shape. I played early and finished in three and one half hours. Great way to start the day and get back to family and beach. Give it a try nest time you are thinking of the Raven or Kelly Plantation.
First time, Best time
I went to this course with three buddies from home. We were welcomed by the friendly staff immediately upon entering the clubhouse. Our checking process was seamless and we were out on the range in no time. Only downside is range balls were not included in the green fees. Practice facility and putting green were in good shape and not too crowded. We had a wonderful round of golf in around four hours on a Friday. The course layout is great and offers an excellent challenge for any skill level golfer. I will definitely be back and would recommend this facility to anyone wanting a friendly, affordable, challenging course near 30A. It was 25 minutes from our location in Seagrove Beach. Grateful to the staff for an excellent experience.
Nicest practice facilities around. Didn't have another golfer in site the whole round.
New Favorite Near The Beach
My family and I are frequent beach goers in Destin, and I have played many courses in and around the beach. Windswept Dunes is our new favorite course to play here. Played at 6:32 AM. Did not get a feel for pace of play because we were the first off in the morning. Finished in 3 and a half hours. Very foggy at the beginning (couldn’t see 20 yards in front of us), but once the fog lifted, the course looked and played great. Very fair layout with many wide fairways and big greens. Many interesting holes with some fairways split by multiple bunkers. Staff was very friendly with the little we interacted with them. Premium course for the price (please do not raise the prices!). WE WILL BE BACK!
Great Course
Outstanding layout and course conditions. Best course in PCB.
