About
The golf course at Heather Ridge provides not only a good game but also spectacular views overlooking the Rocky Mountains. The former private, 18-hole course is 6,106 yards at its longest tees and plays to a par of 70. Renowned golf course designer Richard Phelps designed the course, which opened in 1972. The small greens are undulating and extremely sloped. The course also features narrow fairways and water hazards. The most difficult hole on the Heather Ridge Golf Course is the 10th hole, which is a par-5 that covers 506 yards.

Worst course I’ve played
Staff is rude and uninviting. Grounds are not well maintained.
Hidden Gem
Heather Ridge is an older course that has gone through a lot of positive changes the past 4-5 years. A short par 70 track that is tight and requires accurate shots on many holes. They have put some money in to the course to upgrade nearly everything. The grounds, cart paths, sprinklers, etc have all resulted in big improvements. There are some limitations such as a small driving range with mats and irons only. The snack shack is very limited in food offerings but Noonan's upstairs is a full restaurant and bar that you have access to.
This is not a dig on HR, but it isn't one of the top courses in the area. Don't confuse it with Bear Dance, The Ridge or even Red Hawk Ridge, Saddler Rock, and others. However, for the price it's a fun place to play and the conditions are nice.
End of season round...
Snuck this pre-Halloween round in just in time!
Mother nature must of known we were cheating a little bit with this late season round of golf so she had something in store for us before round's end.
Started playing in a high-level fog bank that lifted by hole #4. Forty-eight degrees to start. Then heated up to about 55 degrees but by hole#16, temperatures dropped down to 45 and then really dropped to 39 to finish the round, in a light snow!?!?!
Too much fun. Hot chocolate the rest of the night! Cheers!

Great round at Heather Ridge
I had a great time at the course. Check-in was very easy since I had prepaid online (via golfnow). The staff was very friendly, both at the clubhouse and in the dining area. Course was in great condition. Grass was properly kept and greens were fast, but clean. Only issue I had were the piles of leaves in certain areas which made it hard to find balls for the group I was with, but also understandable given the season.

Short & Narrow
There is hardly a hole without houses lining the fairways. Very little area to miss safely. Also, the green were super undulating and fast, making for a day full of 3 putts. The one benefit was that it was a relatively short course so a smart player could play irons off the tee all day (if they could keep it straight).
