The golf course at Heather Ridge provides not only a good game but also spectacular views overlooking the Rocky Mountains. The former private, 18-hole course is 6,106 yards at its longest tees and plays to a par of 70. Renowned golf course designer Richard Phelps designed the course, which opened in 1972. The small greens are undulating and extremely sloped. The course also features narrow fairways and water hazards. The most difficult hole on the Heather Ridge Golf Course is the 10th hole, which is a par-5 that covers 506 yards.

Good ole boys mentality

If you don't mind the "good ole boys" mentality and policies, this is a fun course to play but I'm tired of being lied to and treated like a 2nd class player!

1 - Cart sharing rule apparently only applies to non-good ole boys... pro shop insisted I share a cart but as we talked, two single carts made their way over to the #7 tee box right in front of us.

2 - On course, some of these good ole boys act like irrational and delusional kids throwing a fit! Pace of play was as bad as I've ever seen it... we finally asked to play through on #11 but one good ole boy said flat out, "that's not happening!?!?!' So we drove past him and teed off #12. He flipped us all off as we calmly went forward and he mocked the player in our group that asked to play through, as ETIQUETTE and COMMON SENSE dictates...!

3 - Still sore at us, the delusional old good ole boy ranted at us as we played ahead of him, as he hit his ball everywhere except in play!??!!? He even went to the extent of stopping the new group in front of us, telling them to slow down and delay us... I confirmed this in the parking lot!

Bottom-line: I hate this good ole boys mentality and obvious policy conflict so I'm avoiding playing Heather RIdge until I hear real common sense business changes have taken place that welcome ALL PLAYERS, not just the locals!
