About
The golf course at Heather Ridge provides not only a good game but also spectacular views overlooking the Rocky Mountains. The former private, 18-hole course is 6,106 yards at its longest tees and plays to a par of 70. Renowned golf course designer Richard Phelps designed the course, which opened in 1972. The small greens are undulating and extremely sloped. The course also features narrow fairways and water hazards. The most difficult hole on the Heather Ridge Golf Course is the 10th hole, which is a par-5 that covers 506 yards.

Hidden Gem golf course
A golf course that is off of 225 and lliff, a true Gem golf course. Perfect price for walking course. A course that is easily booked a day or two advance and getting a tee time in the morning.
Greens are well groomed and kept clean. Worth checking it out when you are looking for a early tee time in the work week

Good day out in good but hot conditions
The deal on golfnow.com was hard to pass up, especially with a reward code. I was paired up with 3 friendly guys. Check-in was a breeze. The range was open for irons. The putting green is open for 10 minutes prior to tee time for up to 4 people according to the sign, but it wasn't crowded. They had a towel water bucket out, nice for #1, #7, & #10 rewettings. The course was in good condition with fast greens, especially on the downhill putts. The rough wasn't too rough. As usual, the houses are close, I think we hit a few too many. Pace of play was good for the 1st 3/4 but backed up at the end, no big deal, a few minutes wait at maybe 4 holes? The round went in ~4h. This is a good course to work on non-driver tee shots. I hit driver 7x, maybe 2x too many...too greedy? One of our group used irons the entire round without too much trouble. The bunkers were a bit variable in condition, one very soft sand (#8) and the other (#10) distinctly firm. The beverage cart person came by a bunch, nice in the hot weather. I needed 5 bottles of water walking the course. This course rewards accuracy over distance. It is a bit like stepping back in time.

Pace of play - - - - cart guy
The course is fun to play except please remove your old man that is telling us that our pace of play was too slow. We kept track of our time and we were actually 10 minutes ahead of when we started playing. He was very annoying and he refused to move his cart away when he told us our play was too slow. You and other courses need to know the schedule so you do not upset the avid golfers.

Best value in town
The course is not overly challenging. Greens were in excellent condition, and borderline fast. Pace of play on front 9 was under 2 hours (foursome walking), back 9 was 2.5 hours, had to wait on many holes. With a coupon, paid $16 for 18 holes, best deal in town.

Should have worn armor
No matter where you are on the course you're in danger of being hit by a golf ball and you have the chance to hit others as well.
