Heather Ridge Golf Course
About
The golf course at Heather Ridge provides not only a good game but also spectacular views overlooking the Rocky Mountains. The former private, 18-hole course is 6,106 yards at its longest tees and plays to a par of 70. Renowned golf course designer Richard Phelps designed the course, which opened in 1972. The small greens are undulating and extremely sloped. The course also features narrow fairways and water hazards. The most difficult hole on the Heather Ridge Golf Course is the 10th hole, which is a par-5 that covers 506 yards.

The storm missed us but we did get a sunset rainbow. Photo submitted by Buckeye28 on 08/01/2013
Nice challenging course.
Great value- Really nice course with challenging water and bunkers. Pro shop, dining facilities, etc are quite modest.
excellent
booked on Golf Now and landed with 3 other people who did the same. No one knew any of the others but we all meshed well. Had a great time, played well, and the course was really nice. Great travel golf memory.
Friendly staff and great greens
Friendly staff and great greens what more could you ask for! It's usually not terribly busy. The layout is a little short but you won't be hitting driver much if your a good player. Very good long iron practice. A couple very tough par 3s and number 18 is a great and very difficult finishing hole. And you will love the greens!
Average Course
Course is pretty easy/short. Pace of play was slow, price was high for the course.
Standard city course
I really didn't think it was a great value for the money. It is a very short and very tight course. I will say that the course was in awesome condition though. These greens rolled better than any course I've played all year. Well done.
Enjoyed it
This is the second time I played here. The greens are well taken care of as is the rest of the course. The houses are a little close to the fairways but no big deal. The staff is always super friendly!
Cold and Snowy..
Having to pay in advance for our tee times, we almost felt obligated to play. The weather was about 37 degrees with chill factor of 32 degress. It snowed and rained and/or a combination of both during the entire round.
I have enjoyed using Golf Now to reserve tee times and find specials. I was wondering; does Golf Now allow for inclement weather for refunds?
Heathe Ridge
The course was in very condition and the pace was excellent.
Nice Course
I was late for my tee time, but the lady in the pro shop moved my time and got me in with no problems. Very nice...weird that a few times random teenagers will stroll across the fairway, but other than that, it was a great experience...especially for the price. Short course, but with some challenge on particular holes.
Good course for the price
The course was nice and was a great deal for the price. The greens were just sanded and aerated but that happens this time of year.
The only complaint that I have is the driving range ends at one of the tee boxes I cant remember what hole it was but you have people driving into you as your trying to tee off. This has happened every time I have played this course. This makes that hole a pain waiting to be pelted with a ball when teeing off.
One of my favorites for practicing
Great value and interesting enough layout to challenge just about anyone despite being short by today's standards. They were aerating and the fold now alert is so buried it's absurd, but that's not the courses fault. So this review is in general. LOVE the greens. You can tell it's a former country club they roll awesome in season. Great course to practice accuracy on cuz the greens are tiny but also very tricky in some spots so you get a good balance. You can play the blues on a few holes to stretch the driver if you're a 300 yard guy but in general it's more about the short game here. I've always found other patrons cool about joining up or letting people play through so pace of play hasn't been an issue for me. Highly recommend it.
Heather ridge
Not long but good layout that needs your attention
Good challenge
Poor customer service
We had a 320 tee time should be more than enough time to play 18 before sundown at 730. We are on pace at hole 16. As I hit my tee shot the Warden pulled up and condescendingly tells us that carts are due back in by 6. Pick up your ball and head to the clubhouse. No one told us when we payed our cart fee that we would be forced to return to the club house an hour and a half before sundown. Thank you Heather Ridge for screwing me out if 4 holes and leaving me short of a valid scorecard. What ever happened to customer service. Why would carts be required back so soon. Golf is an expensive sport and I expect a certain level of service in return for my hard earned money. Heather Ridge fell short of the mark and that is very disappointing considering how fun of a course it is. Unfortunately no matter how fun your course is if you treat people the wrong way it is all for nothing. I will give credit where credit is due. The course is very fun and the greens are challenging. I've had a lot of fun playing it in the past. However until management decides take care of the customer and do things the right way I will not be back.
Nice course! Plays quick and short, Lots of water
I played this course for the second time and both times got around in 3hrs and 20 minutes. Keep the driver in the bag. A lot of the par 4's aren't too long and just need an iron off the tee to stay out of trouble. Greens are in good shape and sand traps are as well. Not too challenging of a layout. A couple long par 3's though.
Short course, but not bad for the price
First time playing here, and it was a good time. Course is short, only 3 or so holes long enough to pull out a driver, but it is an interesting layout. Lots of doglegs and narrow fairways mean the accurate hitter will do better than the long ball.
Bare foot
If ownership would take a little pride in who they allow on the course then it would be a much better place to play. Had three younger guys playing bare foot with tank tops and jeans on. They drove the carts wherever they wanted and may have been the worst golfers ever. Nobody fixes the divots on the greens but I imagine the non golfers they allow on are the ones to blame.
Fun cheap course
Lower end of courses but easy to get tee times. Great price compared to others.
A glimpse of what courses _used_ to be like
I started the game of golf at this course a little over 30 years ago. That was when Ping was the latest craze and people who hit 250 yd drives garnered the adoration of the driving range hackers. The course hasn't changed and 250 yd drives are hit with hybrid irons now. The course's water and trouble spots are easily overcome and what used to be strategic trees blocking a dog-leg's shortcut are more aesthetic than menacing. Still, the greens are kept reasonably quick and their undulations give players a challenge for a two-putt. It was a great day of golf and a vivid example of how the game has evolved over the years.
A hidden gem.
Great course to play. The greens are in great shape.
