Heather Ridge Golf Course
About
The golf course at Heather Ridge provides not only a good game but also spectacular views overlooking the Rocky Mountains. The former private, 18-hole course is 6,106 yards at its longest tees and plays to a par of 70. Renowned golf course designer Richard Phelps designed the course, which opened in 1972. The small greens are undulating and extremely sloped. The course also features narrow fairways and water hazards. The most difficult hole on the Heather Ridge Golf Course is the 10th hole, which is a par-5 that covers 506 yards.

The storm missed us but we did get a sunset rainbow. Photo submitted by Buckeye28 on 08/01/2013
Nice little course
Some repairs to the cart paths, & more coming I think, as they really need it. Shorter tight course, keep them in the fairway and you'll be putting for birdie. Greens firm and in good shape.
It was worth the money
The course is in great shape due to all the rain this year! I hated the bunkers, they're not in good shape and rough sand! Not a big fan of only 1 par 5 each 9 but overal lengths of each hole are championship level. It seems like the homes and condos all along the course are very tight and to close for forgiving play. If you shank a few here and there while you play be ready to hold your breath on this course cause youre bound to hit a house or two... my friend hit a few! But for $26 twilight with a cart you can't beat that! Friendly staff, good beer selection, and overal decent course!
Nervous
If you can't hit straight don't play this course. Although it is a nice course I have nothing bad to say. But if you struggle to drive the ball straight it makes for a nerve racking day. Houses are very close to the course.
Great value
Always have an excellent time golfing here. The food is excellent too.
Great course! Fast greens
This place is great, but make sure you take your own water or beverages because there are no water stations anywhere and we only saw the snack cart once in 4 hours!
Great Value
Teed off at 8:30 on a Tuesday morning as a twosome and finished in just over 3 hours. We were only the second group out. Weather was outstanding and course was in great shape. Only $21 on Golfnow hot deal. Great bang for your buck. Good to play on a weekday morning, weekends are busy. Greens were pretty hard and quick.
Good value
Great conditions, staff friendly, decently challenging with good amount of water. Only complain was the cart paths were rough and torn up. Otherwise great course for reasonable price
BEST BANG FOR YOUR BUCK.
This hidden gem is worth every penny. No, it is not Arrowhead or Inverness, but the coarse is a lot of fun. Greens are challenging, just enough water where it counts, long five pars and super friendly staff. I wish a private millionaire would drop a few dollars into this ex-country club and make it a more family fun place. Kids at pool-parents on coarse type deal. Otherwise, one of my favorite Golf Now destinations.
Bang for your buck
This course will make you better. You have to think and execute or you're screwed. Best bang for the buck for afternoon play in my opinion.
Nice course
Got a deal off GolfNow and only payed $30. For that price I would definitely go there again
greens are horribly fast
Keep your approaches below the hole because if you're above the hole you're dead. Really fast greens. Maybe not so bad once the grass grows a little.. Course was in pretty poor shape even for middle of April.
Some Good, Some Bad, But Mostly Okay
The place is relatively conveniently located, but if it your first time playing, it is a bit challenging which way to go from the parking lot to the golf shop (just go right, haha). From the moment I got to the shop, there was a man and his son about to play, and they showed up 2 hours early and the son was claimed as a "spectator" all for $23. Of course later, I saw them playing together, both with clubs on the back nine much ahead of their 3:30 pm tee time, but that is neither here nor there. I checked in after the father and son duo and asked if it would be okay if I didn't take a cart, and then the guy at the counter said I would need to pair up with the guy at the tee box. I declined and he told me I would have to move quickly and the GolfNow price was with a cart so there was absolutely nothing he could do. I was not asking for anything because I wanted to walk, but thanks for putting the fact out there. Other than the bad experience from the beginning, I overall had a great time on the course. I was caught behind a threesome and the ranger came and asked if I wanted to be transplanted up a few holes, which I agreed. He seemed nice and helpful. Other than that, the play was relatively unremarkable. Just remember to not ask if it is okay to walk the course, because the counter boy is going to get onto you for wanting a discount or something...
Great affordable Golf
Always have a good time golfing at Heather Ridge!! Book on Golf Now and get great rates at this course!! The Staff and fellow golfers are always friendly! Not sure about the breakfast burrito i bought but Noonans Tavern upstairs serves a good lunch Highly recommend after a round of golf!!!!
Water Hazzards
My wife and I just played this course for the first time and can't wait to go back. This is a great aurora course with tons of obstacles. This place really is a gem with the amount of water Hazzards you need to negotiate. Can't wait to go back.
Go Somewhere Else!
Hi golfer(s),
I decided to give this course a shot and was extremely disappointed. I generally do not fill out reviews but felt the need to warn any curious minds about this course.
Course: it is nothing special, you are playing through neighborhoods of apartments.. link style, narrow. Tee off and you are practically hitting towards the group in front of you. Green side sand traps require no skill, you can putt your ball out of them. Moving past that, any decent "view" of scenery is obstructed by apartments, condos, parking lots, etc. There was not one hole or time I took a photo during the round. I love snapping quick pictures on my iPhone if that helps clarify.
Atmosphere: I am by no means a professional golfer; however, I do understand the etiquette of golf. You could very well be on the tee and about to swing, carts would continue to drive and/or continue about very loud conversations. The clientele is very amateur, I do not know if anyone thought about letting a group play through - the round lasted way too long for a 70 par course (35/35).
Price: overpriced - period. For the quality of course, you might as well shell out the $5-15 extra dollars for nicer course like Colorado National.
Staff: was probably the only positive aspect of this course. They were helpful - especially in providing my aiming fluid (beers).
Happy golfing!
Good value, good course.
Heather ridge was a pleasant surprise. I have spent the last three years in the Phoenix area playing all types of courses. Now that I moved to Denver I randomly picked a course to play as soon as the snow melted and temp was above 60 degrees. Price was $44 which is comparable to what I'm used to, course was in terrific condition, and greens were incredibly fast and healthy.
The layout would be a good one to walk, but the carts were electric and in good shape for the lazy out there like me. Course has great open fairways, good for a slight slice like mine, and the greens aren't too challenging to get to, but some are very well protected. I have a 19 handicap and with a couple better decisions, I could play this course consistently in the mid 80's.
Loves the Greens
Even though it was the middle of March, the greens were in great condition. There was a lot of contour in the greens that made them very challenging. I will definitely come back this summer to play them at there top speed, should make them even more challenging!
Over priced
I was charged $40.00 for that round which was advertised as a 24% savings. When I got to the course, I noticed that the rate on the board was $32.00; it was only worth about $25.00 to play. My first and last impression is that the course is a poor to average maintained muni. It was very short (par 70) and very tight. It wouldn't be my first choice if I had to play it again.
Good value
Excellent value. Course is pretty good with fairly challenging greens. Greens are in good shape. The houses, condos, etc. that line the fairways are a bit intimidating. Keep it straight.
