The golf course at Heather Ridge provides not only a good game but also spectacular views overlooking the Rocky Mountains. The former private, 18-hole course is 6,106 yards at its longest tees and plays to a par of 70. Renowned golf course designer Richard Phelps designed the course, which opened in 1972. The small greens are undulating and extremely sloped. The course also features narrow fairways and water hazards. The most difficult hole on the Heather Ridge Golf Course is the 10th hole, which is a par-5 that covers 506 yards.

Very Good Condition

This course was in very nice shape. It was nothing special as far as layout but I would play it again for the money. Pace of play was good.

Condition

This course is in poor shape . Cart paths are full off pot holes. Tee boxes full of divots. I don't believe this course will be open much longer as it is clear the owners are not putting much money in to improvements. I will not play this course again.

Never under estimate the greens

Golf course was in good condition, green seems to be difficult to read which made it tough to putt. If you need a washroom break there is a toilet next to the tunnel but if you missed it and decide to relive yourself in the trees, you'll be approach by a senior living nearby and threatens to charge you of public urin4tion.

Good for the price

Played in about 4 hours on a Sunday! Course was in good condition, but a couple of wet spots here and there. Might be from a drainage issue. We saw the marshal several times. I know this helped with the pace of play. The last time I played here the round took almost 6 hours.

The only bad thing here is common to several other courses - too many ball marks are not being fixed by other golfers.

My golf buddies and I are always looking for a last minute deal on Golfnow and Heather Ridge offered 18 with cart for $35 on a SUNDAY MORNING. I played this course once before a few years prior and enjoyed it. I'm not sure I would be willing to pay the full weekend rate but it's a nice place.

Please fix the cart paths

Fairways and greens in great shape. The cart paths, however, will break your back driving a golf cart. Terrible condition.

WOW!!! Recommend all golfers play this course..
First cut little long but very challenging . Greens are perfect. Some tight fairs and trees come in to play. LOVED first 18 holes so made the turn and played another 18. Sun burn was worth it..

Great value

Course is short, but with diversity of water, bunkers, and interesting greens. It was in superb condition (lots of recent rain). A great course for my discount price. I'd play it again, for sure.

Beginner golf snail pace

My group teed off 3 holes behind a group of 3 older ladies and caught them by the 4 th green. They were practice swinging about 10 times for every 30 yard stroke they would make. At first We were patient assuming course etiquette would be observed and they would let us pass, it was certainly not. After holes 5-9 of my group arriving at the next tee box to see that they were only 20-30 yards out and waiting 10-12 minutes to tea off at every hole we began to wonder where the marshal was as we had not seen him all day. After becoming highly annoyed, our group decided to skip hole 9 to pass the group! Low and behold we finally ran into the marshal around the 9th green and asked him to pass some knowledge about etiquette on to the ladies we had now had to skip a hole to be able to pass.
We proceeded at 8 minutes ahead of pace to the 10th tee to find 4 groups waiting to tee off. Have to work in 3 hours we headed back to get a rain check for the back 9. We were received with disrespect at the club house saying that the pace was correct and that they shouldn't have to give us anything. Only after a quick math and common sense lesson regarding the fact that there is no way 8 minutes ahead of pace would keep us on pace with 4 groups of 4 still waiting to tee off at 10 ( mind you we skipped hole 9 to pass another group) did they finally give us a rain check. When walking out of the club house, the marshal came storming up to us talking about how the ladies were on proper pace and that he could not say anything to them. When I asked how it was possible for them to be on pace of we had teed off 3 holes behind them, skipped a hole and only been 8 minutes ahead of pace he only kept telling us there on pace and I'm not saying anything to them. As a note, all of this occurred (15 minutes) and the ladies whom had teed off on nine when we passed them had still not made it to the green on a par 4.
I will never be back to this course! The staff was rude and ignorant and the pace was terrible! The nicest thing about this course was the cart girl who was very friendly and although we were not drinking stopped by to converse with us 3 times in 9 holes!
Don't waste your money here folks!!!!!!!!
PS the clubs that my beginner partner rented was not even a full set, it was missing a wedge and a 7 iron!

Great Value and Hidden Gem

We loved playing this course, it was in great condition and the greens were much harder than we thought they were going to be. We finished 18 in 3 hours and thought it was a hidden gem. We did not eat at Noonan's but I'm sure we'll be back for another round soon.

Tight fairways... good shape

The course was in good shape. Pace of play was extremely slow on the front. Tight fairways and some tight doglegs make this a course that plays to shot shapers and not hitters.

Hard to believe this used to be private

Sometimes in golf you get what you pay for and this is a good example. Played for $35 with a cart on a Sunday unfortunately so did the rest of Aurora. There were guys on the course in jean shorts and tank tops not judging I just havent seen that allowed on too many courses. The round was 5 hours waited on almost every box. I wouldnt play here again but if you are just looking to get out and have fun its a fair price and the course was in pretty good shape not a horrible bang for your buck.

Great value

Fun course. It is fairly narrow and more than a few holes with water in play - so were blind and other presented layup/carry decision making. Course was in great condition. The club house is in rough shape. The staff was super friendly though, so it made for a nice day.

Pace of play was a little challenging. Lots of novice golfers, which is great, but they needed a little gentle Marshall guidance on being courteous and keeping moving appropriately. This is especially true as it was a weekend.

Hidden Secret

This was a private course now open to the public. It is not long but very creative with challenging holes, nice scenery, mature trees for shade and in my opinion, excellent value for the price.
