Course is in good shape. Greens are not particularly fast and they have let the rough grow off the fairways which increases the difficulty making it more challenging.
Cart girl was sick today, but there are non-filtered water stations every 4-5 holes, so no problems with hydration.
Sand bunkers are some of the best to hit out of in El Paso.
GREAT DEAL
Course is in great shape! Even though greens where aereated two weeks ago, they were in good shape! If its the first time you play here, you can get lost..... needs more signs to guide you to the next tee. Staff is very friendly and lunch is great!
Horizon
Greens recently plugged & sanded. Should be a lot better in a week or so.
Horizon
Old course showing it’s age with poor signage & rough cart paths. Greens I better shape than most courses in El Paso.
Was late getting on tee due to cart shortage. the course has been improved and they continue to make it better if they add more water in places. Course is on the rise. They just need to get more carts to handle the busy weekends and holidays.
The course recommendation
I love this course but right now there is a lot going on there. The day I played there were 2 hole closed due to construction. For some reason a memeber of the course started play hole 10 so the pace after that was so slow I decided to stop playing. There is no ranger that would tell them anything. And they wouldn’t let me play through (I was playing single they had a group of 4). After all the construction is done I definitely would recommend this course!!
This course has 4 stars!?!
I do not understand why people have given this course such good ‘stars’. It’s terrible. The conditions are in bad shape - no grass; however there are several places in the fairways & greens where the grass is good. Tee boxes are dismal!
We left after nine holes and had paid for the full round. Don’t go there!!
Course under construction
I arrive and checked in, I was not informed that 2 holes were closed due to construction. At the turn I spoke with staff, who informed me that there would be at least two holes closed through June. I believe that the web site should have a notice advising the condition of course.
Perfect day
Three holes were being worked on (3, 4, 5) got to pick 3 holes to replace those. Cart girl was around often and very freindly. Course was in vood shape and office people were courteous, friendly and very helpful
Best condition of any course in the El Paso area
I make the 45 minute drive at least 2 times a week to play here. There are 5 course that are any where from less than 5 minutes up to 20 minute drive from my house that could play at but I choose not to because you can't beat the price, the staff or condition of this course. I highly recommend playing here, it is a fun course to play and has its fair share of hazards and trees. If you are looking for a great course to play and don t want to break the bank, then Horizon Golf course is the place.
Under Construction...Hazards!!
This course has been resurrected from the dead but has been a slow process over the past 5 years. Has a few holes that are in need of improvement, not to mention all the dirt dunes, fencings, and trenches due to irrigation upgrading and artificial pond areas under construction. If you don't mind all the hazards and the mess then call in your tee time. Otherwise there are other courses in El Paso that offer more bang for your buck.
Love this Course but.....
I never have issues with playing this course and I love it is not too challenging but it has its good holes. But this time that I played the course was a mess, there were two holes that were closed but I wasn't told anything about this. Pace of play was horrible At first it was fluid but after hole 10 out of nowhere some course workers and big shots started playing and stopped the traffic and no ranger was ever seen.
Best bang for your dollar
There is no course in El Paso that can beat course quality for the money you pay. For being the end of November, the course is in great shape. The staff is really friendly and helpful. The clubhouse is awesome. Great food and drinks. A must play course
