This course has 4 stars!?!
I do not understand why people have given this course such good ‘stars’. It’s terrible. The conditions are in bad shape - no grass; however there are several places in the fairways & greens where the grass is good. Tee boxes are dismal!
We left after nine holes and had paid for the full round. Don’t go there!!
Well kept course
Well kept course, friendly marshals, beautiful greens. There could be better signage for each hole. You kind of get confused at times. Would highly recommend.
Fantastic greens
For the end of the season, the greens were in pristine condition. My wife enjoyed her first round of golf. This is a great local course.
Overall quality
Overall quality has gone down. Grass was a little high and for the 2nd time the pace was horrible. A group of 6 was allowed to play and all the staff could say was “They are in a tournament “ last round one of their staff members jumped in to play a few holes on the back 9, causing the pace to be impacted. Do better Horizon.
Horizon Golf Course
I enjoy playing this course, always up to par. Greens and fairways are always in great condition. Would definitely recommend to friends.
Complete Failure
Reserved a 1:40 PM Tee time. Arrived at 1:00 PM to check in early and get warmed up. At check in I was told they have no buckets or balls available. I asked if I could get my cart so I can load out and head to the practice green. I was told there are no carts available and I would need to wait for availability closer to tee time.
At this point I accepted it for what it is and went to the practice greens.
10 minutes prior to tee time I go looking for my cart so I can load out. I’m then told still no carts and there are 4 other groups that are waiting to tee off. All tee times from 1:00 PM forward are still waiting to play.
Long story short, I asked for a rain check and I was told no. I asked to be rescheduled to another day and I was told no availability. Basically, wait to play is the only option. At this point I would have started play around the 2:30 PM on a overpacked course with a sunset time around 5:30 PM. Probably would’ve gotten in 9 holes at the best. I didn’t feel like arguing just to get nowhere and I also didn’t feel like waiting on an over trafficked course surrounded by impatient golfers, so I left.
Don’t bother coming to this place on the weekends . They overbook and don’t care who plays as long as they get their money.
It used to be better but now it’s not worth it. Pay the extra $10 and go to Lone Star or Painted Dunes. You’ll actually get to play your tee time and the facilities are just as good.
