Tour 18 Dallas is an ingenious compilation of the greatest golf holes in the nation, giving golfers the chance to play replica holes from 16 top courses. This one is tough -- not only because of the challenging and lengthy choice of holes that went into the design -- but especially because of the lightning-fast greens and challenging pin placements. While the conditions are probably accurate in terms of what the pros face each week, it can be quite humbling to shoot 15 strokes over your handicap because of 4- and 5-putts. The most recognizable holes at Tour 18 Dallas are the Augusta National Amen Corner replicas, which make up the final three-hole stretch.

Course was an awesome course, greens were a bit fast, staff told us that they had just been redone and that would soften up in a few months

Greens sub standard and bunker sand horrendous

Greens were slow and inconsistent. Bumker sand on most holes practically impossible to do bunkershots from. Extremely heavy and rough rough grain - frlt like concrete.

Totally overrated and overpriced

I had really high hopes for this course and it was somewhat entertaining but honestly it was in terrible shape. I don't think they've watered it since March. Greens were concrete, fairways were dead and lumpy. If not for the deeply discounted online rate I would have been really angry.

Tour-18 (true and ugly) 12/22/2020

This sounded like a dream come true. Play 18 of the most exciting PGA tour holes in golf, all on one course. Great idea, right. Well, not everything is as expected.

Tee boxes and fairways were in good condition. The greens appeared to be in the process of being recovering 80% to 90% good shape, firm and fast (very fast), everyone in my group struggled to figure them out. Overall, the greens are getting a lot better and are almost completely back. The bunkers had good sand and they are getting better, but not all bunkers are been raking daily by staff. You should into that Mr. Superintendent. Practice facility and club house are awesome; we had few drinks after our round, good prices, nice staff.

Pricing, I think $70 it is reasonable for a round of golf, because it has an awesome layout and it is a fun course to play. The neighborhood and the concept of the Tour18 is fantastic.

NOW, let talk about why I might NOT to come back to play here again. PACE of PLAY, it was awful, and I don’t think the word AWFUL is the correct one, horrible pace of play. My tee time was at 12:40p, at that tee time, I should have plenty of daylight to finished a round of golf when sun light ends around 5:50pm in the DFW area. Well, that wasn’t the case, we didn’t even finish 18 holes, because poor Pace of Play and it is ashamed because the last 3 holes in this course are the most exited holes in the Tour-18, replicas for the Augusta National #11, #12 and #13.

What really tic-me-off was that I paid $140 to play with my son as Christmas Present and we didn’t have the chance to finish it and never got an apology or nothing.

Mr. Superintendent if you read this, a normal golf hole will, on average, take a group of professional golfers around 10 minutes and a group of average amateurs around 15 minutes. This equates to an 18-hole round of golf taking anywhere from 3 to 4 1/2 hours and this is not happening on the course you are managing.

To solve this problem I think you should put every golfer on schedule at the time of tee off by creating a card that can be place inside the cart “Where the flag placement is” with times of where the golfer should be every 4 holes. Give those cards to the Marshal at the #1 tee and have him explain what that card means and the effect it has if you don’t keep your pace of play.

If the Marshal is call for slow pace of play, the marshal can track the group that is playing slow and force them to move forward to the next hole/tee box, if they are no in the time with the card it was provided at the time of tee off. (check Bridlewood GC, they are using similar system)

Until then, I WILL NOT recommend this course even if it is in fantastic shape, just because a 5+ hours of golf is not good. I was told and read in some reviews; that pace of play at Tour 18 is one of the most complaining the course has.

Course in Recovery

Tour 18 Dallas is in recovery after a minor renovation this past summer. They closed from July to September to address issues with all the greens and turf on some holes. They have done a great job. This course has been through loss of greens over the past several years from well known mismanagement by the superintendents. They may have pulled off a great repair job and if the weather is good in the spring could have one of the best facilities in the area. While I have been playing golf in this county for 46 years, I am convinced they may have been able to turn the conditions around for years to come. Time will tell.

Greens and bunkers have really improved. Front nine pace was really good, back nine backed up. On #8 marshall told us to speed up and when we got to nine we had to wait 5 minutes.. And we waited pretty much every hole on back nine. Marshall needs to learn how to find the real problem. Highly recommended just don't expect to play in 4 hours on a weekday
