Meadow Hills Golf Course
About
Meadow Hills Golf Course is an 18-hole course in Aurora that was designed by Henry B. Hughes, who designed a few other courses in the Colorado countryside. This municipal golf course stretches over 6,492 yards, playing to a par of 70. The course's landscape includes six lakes, which provide water hazards that come into play on several holes. It is also very well-bunkered. Meadow Hills Golf Course's signature hole is the par-4 18th. The hole is 401 yards and requires a tricky shot over a water hazard. There is also a putting green and on-site teaching pro, as well as twilight discounts.

Peak Condition
Great track, not very long but they get the most out of the space they have. The one downside of the course is when it's busy keep your head on a swivel because of how close fairways are to each other, doesn't take much of a mis-hit to put in range if someone on another hole. I wouldn't use that as a reason not to come however, the course is in fantastic condition and the greens are just as well kept!
Tough Pins Today
Had a great day out at Meadow Hills. The course has drained really well considering all of the rain we have been getting. Definitely not mushy.
Everything is in great shape, especially the greens. Make sure you keep your ball below the hole or prepare for some very fast and difficult putts. There were a few tricky hole locations today, especially the front ones. lots of fun.
Friday morning round took about 4.5 hours, not too bad but a little slow out there. Enjoyable round and will continue to return.
Best in town
Absolutely great conditions right now compared to other courses in town. Tight fairways. Beautiful scenery. Pure greens.
Great condition for time of year
Got through 18 holes in 4 hours on the dot. Was rarely held up or had anyone waiting on us. Course was in beautiful shape for this time. Very challenging course if you are a newer golfer like me (20 handicap) Keep your driver in the bag and work on your irons with these tree lined fairways. Will return soon for price and overall experience.
Very good greens!
First time playing this course in 2 years and Meadow Hills did not disappoint me. Fairways were clean and healthy and greens were in very good condition. MH gets a lot of daily play from league play to average golfer play. Greens were peppered with average golfers poor attempt to properly repair ball marks. Despite this they were very puttable and scoreable. Will definitely look forward to playing MH again soon.
Consistently Good
I love the layout and the conditions on this course. Some of the better greens around town, they are in great shape again this year.
The course plays longer than it looks on the card, and if you are missing fairways off the tee then you will be struggling with tree trouble.
The closing stretch of holes 14-18 is a tough test starting with a very difficult par 4, 2 long par 3s and a picturesque par 5 gently curving around the trees. 18 is a good closer that requires a good second shot to be in position on a 2 tiered green.
Never disappointed with a round at Meadow Hills. Pace of play is good and the staff is great, and affordable rates. One of the better Municipal Courses around.
Aurora's Vintage Gem
Golfers who live near Aurora are lucky to have five different courses to choose from. Each with its own unique qualities. If I was pressed to pick just one course to play then I would likely settle on Murphy Creek, the links style monster out east of town. Meadow Hills would come In a close second place. Luckily I get to play both from time to time!
Meadow Hills is an old layout with a classic feel. The city does a great job of maintaining this beautiful golf course. The greens are quite small, they are mostly tilted from back to front and are very fast and smooth. Most of the fairways are narrow and lined by mature trees. Tee shots that miss the fairway at this course are often penalized by needing to punch out away from the wooded areas.
At around 6500 yards from the tips, this course can play longer than it appears on paper. This is a par 70 course with 3 par 5s and 5 par 3s. There are a few short par 4s, but plenty of opportunities to hit the driver.
The opening hole at this course is a devilish par 4, dead straight, but very long. Two straight and long shots are required to get to the putting surface. I think think the first is one of the most challenging openers around. Hole 2 is no picnic either, a par three stretching over 200 yards. The 9th, when tipped out, offers a tough tee shot with a very narrow landing area between a lake left and lots of large trees to the right.
Making the turn, players are met with a par 5 and par 4, both sharp dog-legs to the right. The 12th moves right to left up the hill and calls for a draw (for righties) to keep a drive in the fairway. The 14th hole is a brute at over 450 yards. The green is unseen from the tee, but you will hopefully get a glimpse of it after a good tee shot to the top of the rolling hill.
My favorite hole at Meadow Hills is the par 5 16th with a picturesque tee-shot. The hole curves gently around the trees lining the right side of the fairway. It is possible to get home in 2 with a good drive, but shots placed too far left will end up out of bounds. The tee shot on the par 3 17th may be longer than your second on the 16th, this bear of a hole stretches beyond 230 yards. The closing hole has a fun the shot over a lake to a nice wide fairway and a second shot uphill to a very small 2 tiered green. Good luck putting if you end up on the wrong portion of this green!
Meadow Hills always offers a great challenge and a change of pace from the newer links style courses that are more common in the area. This course may be old, but it is definitely worth your time!
Classic Muni, Old Time Former Country Clubv
This course had a lot of reviews but since the GolfPass - GolfAdvisor merger it looks like only a handful remain? I had written a review just a few years ago but it's gone. I don't live right near the course but I like to get over there at least once a month as it rarely disappoints and can often play in 4 hours or less, even on weekends sometimes.
This course is a fun, walkable classic muni that was once a formidable country club course back in the throwback days. Not long at only 6500 and change from the tips, par 70 (back 9 has 3 par 3s and 2 par 5s) it nevertheless requires straight and strategic shots due to the tree lines and sometimes narrow fairways with OB and hazards coming into play more often than not. It's rare for me not to be in "tree jail" more than once during 18 holes, sometimes even after a decent tee shot. Greens are relatively small so GIRs are good, not a lot of undulations and fairly readable. Course conditions are regularly excellent from tee box to green. Staff is friendly and water for drinking and towels usually every 3 or 4 holes as with most City of Aurora courses. They have a popular city amateur 2-day tourney every Sep that's always fun.
