Hills at Pecan Valley Municipal Golf Course
About
The old Pecan Valley muni has evolved over the years as the successful culmination of work between the Army Corps of Engineer, the city of Fort Worth, and the Tarrant County Water Control District. When the city sold the old Worth Hills Golf Course to Texas Christian University, they were able to fund a deal to buy the 27-hole Benbrook Municipal below Lake Benbrook.
The Hills Course was rounded out in 1981 by Dave Bennett, who completed the addition to supplement this shorter, more wide-open course. The course is less lengthy now but water comes into play often, including the 375-yard 2nd hole that doglegs left around water.

Course in great shape. Had to walk due to restrictions of the covid 19 set in place.
Completely enjoyed walking as that's how I grew up playing golf.
I understand they will have food available starting on the 5th.
Ball washers
We only found two ball washers on the course. This was a problem since it rained the day before. The fairways were a little thin but I think they will be better in the spring.
Nice muni
Solid course for a avid golfing group . Range a little weak but ok. Fairways a bit thin but greens were great and pace of play good .
Great place to play
Can't go wrong. Great layout and friendly staff. In good condition even in the off season. Can't wait to play in the Spring.
Great course?
This course was in great shape even with how wet it's been around here it was very fun. It was actually raining during half the round. I'll definitely be back in the spring to see this beautiful course. Staff was great as well!!
The Hills!
Grew up playing this course when it was just 9 holes and was called the Blue Nine. The Red Nine and White Nine were what are now the River course. Played all day long in the summer, sometimes 45 holes a day. Still a fun course to play as The Hills. Sometimes the greens can get very slow and roll about 4-5 on the Stimp. Fun city course that presents a good challenge.
Great time playing
It was a beautiful day around 70 degrees and walking . Course is maintained well. For a public course it is very well kept. Played at a reasonable pace except couple of holes there was a back up as sometimes people forget that they cant reach the green but still wait until green clears. Played with couple of different groups. Front 9 with couple of guys very nice good players. Back 9 with a different group very good people.
Greens are in good shape well maintained. Of course being in the winter weather keeping greens rolling that well is nice. Over all it was a great time and course I can play without any hesitation.
Great place to knock off the rust
I went alone but meet some great guys to team up with to play a round of golf. Nice open course, being in late fall season the course was good and the greens were green and a little fast. Can’t wait to go back to play this course in the spring.. one thing I didn’t like was after playing 9 holes I couldn’t go to the club house to get some snacks or drink this didn’t have that option. So during the week it’s BYOB.
Great course
Really great course, beautiful greens, challenging..
The course was challenging, but great experience.
Course was challenging, but great experience for someone who wants to improve their game.
First time
For the cost there are nicer golf courses out there. The conditions of the bathrooms were bad. Every ball washer was either dry or broken. Only one beverage cart was out. We saw her twice in 6 hours. Not a bad place but definitely not worth what they are charging.
Great value
Scored Hot Deal and course was in very good shape, especially with lack of rain recently. Greens rolled great especially with volume of play. Prices great for food and beverage as well. Played Hills and look forward to getting on River as well. Great golf value in Ft. Worth.
Real Value
Played 2 weeks earlier and although greens were good then, they were great this round! Fairways, tees all in good shape as well, making for a wonderful round. Price is right for play and beverages...GREAT value and hope they keep greens in top shape.
Always fun
In good co dition. It won't beat you up. But it is no pushover
