Hills at Pecan Valley Municipal Golf Course
About
The old Pecan Valley muni has evolved over the years as the successful culmination of work between the Army Corps of Engineer, the city of Fort Worth, and the Tarrant County Water Control District. When the city sold the old Worth Hills Golf Course to Texas Christian University, they were able to fund a deal to buy the 27-hole Benbrook Municipal below Lake Benbrook.
The Hills Course was rounded out in 1981 by Dave Bennett, who completed the addition to supplement this shorter, more wide-open course. The course is less lengthy now but water comes into play often, including the 375-yard 2nd hole that doglegs left around water.

Good Value
Hot day so pace was good for a Saturday. Course has held up pretty good for heat and week without rain. Greens a little bumpy but consistent, especially for a public. Parking logistics a bit strange as a hike to Clubhouse on a hot day. Overall a nice layout and value.
Suprised
Haven’t played here in a long time. We were pleasantly surprised. Fairways were green, greens were in decent shape, and first cut of ruff was good. The trees had matured. The course looks much better than when I played here years ago. If you haven’t played here in a while, or if you’ve never played here come give it a try.
Wet but fun
The course was well maintained even with the recent rain still fun to play and the guys who played with us were “random” but super nice will definitely go back
Course is overall in good condition.
Some of the sand traps need renovation. Need more than one rake at each trap, especially some of the very large ones. Fairways and greens in good condition.
First time in years, worth it.
Now living on the opposite side of town,I haven't played this course in 10 years. Got a great GolfNow price and so glad I made the drive. Its a muni, but its a really good muni in good shape. Good, fun, fast round.
Not bad
Having last played the River course here last year we saw the deal for $19 on GolfNow and decided to give it a try. first off it was not crowded except for quite a few walkers. The Tee boxes are in need of leveling and some tender care as are a few bunkers needing help but overall a good deal and nice course. 3 hour and 15 minute round with a three-some in carts!
Great day for golf
Played Sunday 3/17 and the weather was perfect. It’s spring so course needed growth in fairway. Overall enjoyed it.
Fun course that's forgiving
This is a fairly open course so it is definitely forgiving, which I always appreciate. Greens were in great shape but the fairways needed some work but I think that was mostly due to lots of rain prior to playing. I love the elevation changes throughout the course, it really makes things interesting.
Staff has always been friendly and willing to answer any kind of questions you may have. This course is definitely a course beginners should play due to how forgiving most of the holes are. I like playing here because I am familiar with it and I know that it's going to be in good shape consistently.
Great Day of Gold for $12.00
It was a great day of golf for $12.00. We were actually able to get in 27 holes in less than 4 hours. The course was in great shape and we had a great time. The staff at Pecan Valley are very nice. Would recommend both the River and Hills courses to anyone.
Nice Practice Round
Not a bad place for a little on course practice. Balls are lost very easily in the rough, lots of ground cover (dead leaves, fallen tree branches, lots of acorns etc. ). Could stand to be cleared up/ cleaned up a bit. Greens where good.
Fort Worth Municipal
Pecan Valley Hills course is a user friendly course that is fun to play. Holes 2, 6, 8 and 9 are probably the most challenging. No. 2 requires a good second shot across a generous pond, No. 6 can be had if you stay out of the trees off the tee (use iron off the tee), No. 8 requires a nice fade around a couple of large trees protecting the right side of the fairway and No. 9 is a severe dog-leg left hole that can be a problem if you can't hit a middle to long iron draw off the tee. The greens were in very good shape and the fairways were OK (sort of typical muni fairways). I play this course often and it is a good value.
