Designed by Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay, the links-style Golf Club at Fossil Creek was nominated by Golf Digest as one of the best new public golf courses in Texas when it opened in 1987, and has lived up to that advance billing since then. The course is scenic, with massive trees, limestone bluffs, bubbling creeks, and numerous lakes that bring water into play on 15 of 18 holes. The course boasts pretty rolling fairways and 18 testing holes all intertwined throughout streams created by Fossil Creek. It's surrounded by rocky-ledged creeks and crystal lakes.

A great course, with a major hiccup...
If you've played here, you know that the pace is slower than a drunk turtle. We did see a marshal once, but it did not seem to make a difference. Really need to tell players that either speed up or go play somewhere else.

Starter could use some etiquette towards members. Made it difficult to get started.

Everything was up to par, but the greens. They need a little TLC. A few more weeks of rain and heat will get them there.

Slow but Fun
We had a blast and the course was in good condition. The pace of play was not efficient at all. We were a foursome constantly waiting on the threesome in front of us.

New carts and Bunkers need new sand
Newer carts will be a nice change ad the older ones are not in good shape. Also the bunkers need addtional sanda as some are not playable.
