About
Designed by Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay, the links-style Golf Club at Fossil Creek was nominated by Golf Digest as one of the best new public golf courses in Texas when it opened in 1987, and has lived up to that advance billing since then. The course is scenic, with massive trees, limestone bluffs, bubbling creeks, and numerous lakes that bring water into play on 15 of 18 holes. The course boasts pretty rolling fairways and 18 testing holes all intertwined throughout streams created by Fossil Creek. It's surrounded by rocky-ledged creeks and crystal lakes.

Course Updates need to be public
Great quality course typically but they literally covered their greens with sand. Nothing putted true as balls bounced all over and there were no updates given to the green/course conditions prior to booking. Fairways were in excellent condition.
Target Golf in DFW
I was excited to try out Fossil Creek. It is popular with my friends in Dallas, and I'm always down to try a new course.
I really enjoyed Fossil Creek. The conditions were solid throughout the course. With a good amount of water in play, and several doglegs, the course demands a lot off the tee. You don't have to hit driver all that often, but you do need to hit your targets. Approach shots and par 3s are similarly demanding. Even so, the course is not unenjoyable for higher handicappers as it's not super long. Many holes require just a short iron or wedge into the green.
I highly recommend this course.
Good Condition for late July
The course is in good shape. Challenging and very playable.
Fossil Creek
Called course prior to play staff advised some sod on a couple of greens. Very honest. As it turned our these minor areas where not in play.
Greens were very smooth good pace. Fairways great. Excellent layout. Luckily we were paired with two gentlemen that told where to where to place our tee shots. Yes the rough was high on the front but manageable. Pace of play was slow on front but assistant pro came out and got things moving on the back. . We will definitely be back.
Fairways great, greens average
One of my favorite courses in metroplex. Challenging but fair. Rough still a little long...easy to lose a ball not too far off the fairway. Greens a little bumpy but close to excellent.
A+ Course in DFW
I play around courses throughout DFW and Fossil Creek is in great shape and a challenging course! Will be back for sure.
Poor conditions
The course was in bad shape. If you missed the fairway at all you lost your ball. The greens were burned up and in bad shape. The sand traps were just dirt no hitting out of them.
Greens need a lot of TLC
Course is in rough shape after Covid/winter. Greens are pretty bad, tee boxes getting better, fairways are good. This used to be the nicest public course in Ft Worth, but Covid and bad winter has taken its toll. They need to close the greens and redo them like they did several years ago.
