About
Designed by Arnold Palmer and Ed Seay, the links-style Golf Club at Fossil Creek was nominated by Golf Digest as one of the best new public golf courses in Texas when it opened in 1987, and has lived up to that advance billing since then. The course is scenic, with massive trees, limestone bluffs, bubbling creeks, and numerous lakes that bring water into play on 15 of 18 holes. The course boasts pretty rolling fairways and 18 testing holes all intertwined throughout streams created by Fossil Creek. It's surrounded by rocky-ledged creeks and crystal lakes.

Do NOT play here.
Let me start with, I’ve never in my life left a review for anything ever, but I had to after my round. Worst pace of play I’ve experienced in years, any where. Ridiculous. Multiple greens in terrible condition. The weather has been perfect lately for grass growth. Go play cross Timbers Golf Course in azle. 10x better pace of play and course conditions. That is all, I will never be playing at fossil creek again.
Excellent course to play
This is such a good course designed by Arnold Palmer. You have many challenging holes but they are fare. The greens are in good condition. The maintenance group keep this course in good condition throughout the year. If you are in the area, please consider this course, you will love it.
First time playing
I loved the course and the three guys I played with were great. Had alot of fun and plan on going back to finish the back nine.

I will definitely be adding this course to my regular rotation, very much enjoyed
One of Arnie's Best
Fossil Creek has a very interesting routing with a wide variety of golf holes. 10 of the holes require shots over water or stream.
The fairways are generous - but some places in the fairway are better than others for the second shot. Driver not advised on every hole.
Like all courses here in North TX, the Feb Freeze took a toll on some of the grass - it's coming back slowly.
Fossil is one of my favorites.
Course needs love and attention
This course is considered one of the better courses in town. However, it is in dire need of some love and attention. The greens are in terrible condition and have significant rough areas all throughout. The fairways are excellent and provides superb bounce and roll.
PAY ATTENTION
This is my favorite course locally as I live in NRH...Play here 3-5 times a month. Have been patient this month given the freeze, but am very concerned with the lack of progress on the greens. Played the 12th and 1,2 and 8 greens were almost gone-with others some troubling "scars"...!!! Courses nearby have greens that are rounding into prime shape, so wonder why??? Let's get Fossil back to the top course in the area......
Ok but..
Too many holes that driver not used for first shot, even par 5s. Sand traps need maintenance. Some greens have inadequate grass. But overall good course with challenging holes.
First time
Beautiful course just under a lot of renovations currently. Greens were not in good shape.
Horrible pace
Started at 2:50PM quit playing on hole 13 at 7:30PM. No Marshall to manage course. Played with a 4 some and watched two groups of 8 play in front of us all day. I would not recommend playing here.
Putting on the beach!
I love the course, but this time I thought I was at the beach. There was so much sand on the greens there was no way to putt. I know you have to sand the greens after you punch them but this was nuts.
I won't be back until I know that the beaches are gone
