About
Thankfully Fredericksburg offers this facility as a respite from incessant turista shopping along the main drag. While not overly fancy, this little Hill Country course gets the job done while the shoppers in the family spend their days in town.
The Jeffery D. Blume-designed track plays around 6,700 yards from the tips and includes plenty of trees and water hazards that get in the way.
You’ll notice the two par 5s on the front. No. 3 is the signature, playing 523 yards and forcing a shot over a creek, and another over a bluff. No. 5 is longer, a testy 578 yards from the back.
The most difficult rated hole is the No. 9, a 425-yard par 4, but the regulars complain more about the challenging 18th, an even longer par 4 that plays 450 yards from the tips.
Getting there : The course is just south of town on the west side of the highway.

Last played this course approximately 25 years ago. Wow, what a great layout, well manicured and great greens . Will play again.
Course was great
Our foursome enjoyed the course. It is in great condition. Loved it and highly recommend.
Peaceful Place to Play
Shortish course but fun layout, couple of greens needed some attention but easy to overlook. Very peaceful round even with the small airport next door. plenty of wildlife and pastures bordering the course.

Good golf outing
We had 5 foursomes play a scramble tournament, road into the course not real well marked got a little turned around, staff made it easy to get off. Course in good shape, except some of the greens were thin in spots. Some challenging blind shots, for first time players a bit challenging. Had real good responses from most of the men about the course. Scores were well under normal, ranging from -1 to +3. Typical for these teams are scores from -12 to -7 for a scramble.
Good conditions but poorly marked
Greens were fast, and fairways were o.k. The course is poorly marked. The driving range had more yardage numbers than the actual golf course. It was also hard to tell where on the green the hole was located. Most courses have red, white, blue flags to tell you front, middle, or back hole locations.
We had a 930 tee time and were told to start on #10 instead of #1. After we played the back 9 we had to wait for almost 20 minutes to get on to #1 tee. It seemed odd that we started on the back when the parking lot was bascially empty when we arrived that morning.
The pro behind the counter smelled of alcohol and was slurring his words quite noticeably when we arrived. When we came in after the back 9 to check where we were in line for #1 tee, he was on his cell phone a good 2-3 minutes before helping us.
We will not be coming back to play Lady Bird. The overall experience was not very pleasant.
Nice Course, Challenging but fair
First time to play this course in over 20 years. Lots of good improvements. Rolling hills with lots of trees and water. Fun to play. Good facilities.
Lady bird
It was a fun round greens we're a little sketchy but should be better soon. Enjoy able.
Great layout
The course is a mesh of par 3's and 5's among rolling terrain. Due to the time of year, I suspect, the fairways and greens were not lush and green. The greens did not look very good but were true. The greens were not very challenging, which I enjoy on occasion. Overall, a good experience for my wife and I, on our 16th anniversary.
